The latest Martin D-42, with its iconic prewar Style 45 snowflake inlays and heirloom visuals, looks, plays, and sounds better than ever. This D-42's High Performance Taper mahogany neck delivers modern playability without disrupting the iconic Martin dreadnought strum. Its high-grade Sitka spruce top with aged toner finish looks and sounds like an antique dream; underneath, forward-shifted, scalloped X-bracing enhances bass for a big, resonant bottom end. Gold open-gear tuners, abalone inlays, and antique white binding complete the look.
'I decided to combine the money and get a D-42 to replace them both. At first I will admit I missed my HD and thought I made a mistake and should have used the money to get a HD-28 and a OM-21 or 28. Then the D-42 started to open up... My D-42 is simply the best guitar I have ever played.'
