The S6 Cedar Trans Red GT, offering entry level players the opportunity to experience the great feel and superb sound provided by a hand finished neck, select solid cedar top, wild cherry back and sides made from a 3-layer lamination of real hard wood and a custom polished finish with a gloss top (GT). Comes with Fishman Sonitone electronics system with internal soundhole volume and tone controls is also available.

Being a beginner guitarist, I was searching for a quality guitar which would not break the bank. Purchased the Seagull S6 Trans Red based on the high reviews for the S6 and am pleased with my decision. I did notice (even with my limited experience with guitars) the action was a bit high. Also, the guitar does not come with a strap pin toward the front of the guitar. Instead of trying to adjust the action and install a strap pin possibly damage the guitar; I went to a local luthier. For a small price, he adjusted the action, installed a strap pin, and adjusted the truss rod after taking measurements. The guitar sounds even better than when I first tried it out. While I will probably buy an all solid guitar at some point, my S6 will be more than sufficient as I work toward learning to play the guitar.

.Very good guitar. The bass is rich, the mids up front and the highs are not dull. I just compared this guitar to a more expensive Takamine guitar with solid cedar top, Koa backs and sides and this guitar was better in the overall projection, sustain of overtones and singing melodies. Somewhat of a basic preamp, but I found it quiet and effective in transfer of the sound of the instrument.
Overall I recommend this guitar which is better in tone and sustain than guitars at prices few hundred more.
