The Celebrity Elite Plus series builds on the classic multi-soundhole instrument design of the Celebrity Elite guitars, upgrading them with select figured tops, beautiful abalone appointments and first-rate sound, style and features.
The Celebrity Elite Plus CE44P-8TQ guitar has the classic mid-depth Lyrachord cutaway body with a stunning quilt maple top featuring the Elite multi-soundhole design, which provides clear highs and focused, balanced bass response. For the top' quartersawn scalloped "X" bracing, Ovation reviewed their earlier bracing patterns extensively and arrived at a remarkable new design that borrows from the past and is voiced for the present, with natural tone and optimal response and power. Together, body, top and soundholes create the classic Ovation Elite sound, resonating with full projection, remarkable note clarity and balance, and nuanced tonal complexity.
The top also has elegant multi-wood epaulets, black binding, abalone purfling and a beautiful Trans Blue gloss finish. Other premium features include an effortlessly playable satin-finish neck with black binding, 10"-radius rosewood fretboard with 20 fully accessible frets (24 frets for high E string) and abalone inlays, and a rosewood bridge. For great live sound, the CE44P-8TQ features an Ovation Slimline pickup and OP-4BT preamp system with three band EQ, volume/gain control, onboard tuner and low-battery light.

This is surely an acoustic that penetrates the mix like no other. It cooks & not only in the kitchen. Sweet beautiful sound emits from it like it is playing on its own...actually scary. Some of the overtones just happen without even trying. It is a work of art! 'Nuff said.

I owned one of these beauties for a while and I have to say, the sound was gorgeous. The playability out of the box was amazing! I didn't have to do anything to it. Ovation had me sold on the first round with this baby. The blue finish is so much nicer in person but I had to get rid of it sadly due to moving around a lot and space issues. I have never had a better and more comfortable guitar to sit around and play, I highly recommend ovation guitars in there entirety if you're looking for a great guitar with awesome quality and playability in this price range. I could just lay my fingers on it and use every fret. It's by far the best combo of beauty, price, sound and playability all in one.

.I was a little unsure about this guitar,
I played a few lower end ovations at the music store and did not like them.
I bought this to replace my vintage ovation. Needed the pre-amp for playing live and recording.
When it arrived I tuned it up and it sounded and played great.
The Celebrity Elite Plus will sit next to my Fender Strata and Ovation 12 string. I primarily play at Church.

.i gave this guitar 4 stars because it was a beautiful guitar with a very nice tone.. I did send this guitar back because of the neck I have been playing classical guitar for over 25 years and this neck was so rounded and small that every time I tried to play bar chords on it that my thumb would keep sliding off the back of the neck I just not use to that type of neck but I am still looking for a steel string guitar maybe I try the codoba11-ce that neck is bigger,, anyway back to this guitar I think this a very nice one for someone who all ready use to playing this type of guitar.. I would recommend this guitar to any of my friends who play steel string acoustic

.A former guitarist in my band owned an Ovation (although different model) and I always loved picking it up and playing on it. About a month ago, I began looking for a replacement to my old go-to Fender acoustic-electric, as it's road days are about finished. While researching what I may want, I remembered that Ovation and decided I would get one for myself. Ordered this one with the blue finish and the three day delivery. MF had it at my door in two days!!! Let me say, first, that the pictures don't do this guitar justice. This thing is an absolutely beautiful guitar!!! When I finished drooling and tuned her up, she played smoothly and had a very lovely sound without plugging in. Plugged in the first time at practice the next day and it was even better. Can't wait until Saturday's live show. She'll be the eye of the stage and will sound great!!! Get this guitar.

.I love the way it sounds in small venues like living rooms, picnic areas, any place groups of friends gather. It's also very eye-catching and I get compliments on the the spalted maple body grain pattern. It's perfect!

.I wish I had bought it sooner, this is now my favorite of the dozen I own. It is so pretty I can't keep my hands off it, and the sound is great. I got the extended warranty but I doubt i'll ever need it. Construction is solid as are the electronics, and I like that rounded back, comfortable sitting or standing. Great guitar!

.I got this Ovation with very high hopes based on other reviews.
I was very disappointed with a few things. Once I tuned it up, the neck bent out to unacceptable string height, at least 3/8" off 12th fret. Maybe the truss rod could be adjusted, but, no clue as to how to do this, even with my experience of performing that task on many other guitars. The adjustment nut is concealed inside the body, no access thru the soundholes. It did come with a long allen wrench but no idea how I would do this. There was nearly zero paperwork for it, just a cheap China document.
I plugged it in and was also not impressed with the so called 'famous sound of Ovation'
By comparison, I have a Fishman soundhole pickup on a Gibson J45 acoustic that was superior in sound.
Ovation went back, sadly.
Sure was one of prettiest guitars I have seen tho. Perhaps if you take it to a luthier you can get neck adjusted.
