Off the gait... This thing is amazing!!! It's a wall of sound, loud enough to shake the snares on the snare drum from across the room. There is so much punch and lovely sounds it's hard not to love this little guy. There is no gain knob but I actually love that. The volume knob keeps the integrity of the amp, you can get volumes from no one would even know your playing in your bed room to the whole house and the neighbors know every song you play. In stead of using a gain knob to get more overdrive/distortion, or even the gain switch on the amp itself. I use my guitar volume knobs. All these people who say the Orange Micro amp doesn't go clean, haven't tried using their guitar volumes. I usually use an Epiphone Les Paul when I play this guy. I just leave the little guy on overdrive, and I turn down one the volume knobs of one of the pickups on my guitar, and keep the other on full blast, and I just flip the pickup switch when I want a different tone. The cleans are beautiful and crystal clear, with volumes at 1 and 2, and when you turn you turn it to 3-4 you can get a super bluesy John Mayer tone, that sounds so saturated. With guitar cranked you can get every sound you would like from big heavy drop tuning to AC/DC and My favorite part is you can get pinch harmonics on the amp. I honestly get better sounds from this guy then I do with my Expensive Marshall Solid State Head run though a Marshall 1960A Cabinet... Best uses for this is for anybody. Adults, kids, beginners, indeterminate players, professionals or who wanna take a break from the hi watt stuff. Of just a guy who wants to play on the porch. Tuner is fantastic to. I did an experiment on it. My very expensive, super accurate tuning pedal was dead on with the orange amp. I've also had a Marshall Micro amp and my 2 friends both bought one, I was dround out. There is a shootout on You Tube I suggest you check out. He compares the Marshall, Fender, and Orange Micro amps. Even though the video doesn't do the Orange justice. I suggest you buy this amp, over most starter amps and micro amps. I love this little guy, and I know you will too.

.The sound will NOT produce a clean above the number 2 setting on the volume, and that is with the bridge pickup only and tone control all the way up to its highest setting.
No good for jazz applications.
Okay for a rock n roll sound, but has almost no definition when striking different notes and chords (in other words, does not sound musical).
Better off spending a little more money and getting a Vox or a Roland Microcube-

. I love this thing great micro amp! better sound and feel than other micro amps
I have owned this micro amp for 3plus yrs and it is great for setting up/restringing and living room jamin. I put a distortion pedal in front of it dial it in so you dont blow the speaker and jam away
good tone, good tuner, good for acoustic/elec. guitars too . Not a practice amp for full band rehersal
but good enough to play electric solos over an acoustic or two.I use this alot when im doing set ups on guitars and basses as i do guitar repair and set ups for my local community.this to me is not a toy it is a tool and if you treat it so it will last a long time ! I have read the review that said somthing about the speaker poping or giving out.they must have gotten a lemon that sucks. So far mine is a great micro amp( i own many larger amps orange, randall, marshall) yes its wood/particle board
i like this better than plastic as the sound is improved/warmer.
solidly built for particle board good knobs good switches.over all nice amp
worth every penny

.Please consider this is a toy, don't expect magic in a little box. Considering this I was actually impressed by the tone this little guy can give. It;s actually quite loud for such a little amp and you can crunch out some good tones. The overdrive is a bit hash but what can you expect from a tiny speaker. Buy it, it can inspire you to play different stuff, and for the price you cant beat it. It's better than the other micro amps out there. Wood construction, no plastic, metal chassis. Have fun with it.

.Features: The only reason I dropped this rating down a half point is I would have really liked to see a aux in for playing along to an iPod/MP3 player. This is however a pretty minor complaint as I knew what I was getting when I purchased it. The tuner works great and is very accurate. The headphone out is really nice for a late night jam if you have to keep things quiet. The sound quality isn't good enough to do any recording via the headphone out, but I am a firm believer that you should never record that way anyways.Quality: This thing is built amazing. Quality knobs, quality buttons the input jack has a satisfying pop and the unit itself is made of real wood and metal and if you even semi-respect your belongings this thing will last you long enough to get more than your money's worth. I don't own an actual Orange cabinet or head but from what I can tell it has the exact same grill cloth and tolex on it. It is very, very awesome looking. It even has an exact replica of the little Orange insignia. Value: If you buy this little guy expecting monstrous volume and tone, you are going to be disappointed. This product is not intended to be used for jamming/gigging/recording, and at this price point that should not be a surprise. The portability factor is amazing, and although I can't testify to it personally as I've only owned mine for about a week the battery life is supposed to be great. The campfire jam session potential for this little amp is off the charts. Overall: It's nice to see the quality that Orange puts into even their lower end models. It makes me all that more anxious to own my first real big boy Orange. If you treat it right this little guy will last, and as long as you aren't expecting it to do something it's not intended for you will be very happy with it.

.This is a great little amp.
I have a Billy Corgan Strat and it's easy to get some great tones out of this lil guy. It's built very well (I opened it to check). The tuner works well enough to get you there. I hooked it up to a Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone just to mess around and it surprised me. It sounded pretty cool! I also have a Marshall MS-4 too. The Micro Crush is much better out of the box. Be warned tho...mini amps are super addicting! I'm already thinking of getting a Pignose Legendary 7-100 (which I've played before) and a Roland MicroCube.
You can easily throw this in a backpack with some stomp boxes, cables, extra batteries, and go anywhere to play.

.Great for small spaces and to travel with. It gets very loud which is a definite plus for just a 3w little amp. My only problem with this thing is the overdrive and tone you get with the amp. This is not a real Orange amp! In fact, it is OUTSOURCED From CHINA (not made in England like all the other True Orange amps). All in all," for the price and the sound this amp cranks out it still is a steal! If you want something that sounds better on overdrive and distortion to go with it", I recommend something else for an amp that has at least 10+watts! But the Orange Micro crush has some of the best clean sounds that any amp in its class can put out in the line of Micro amps (much better than the Orange Micro 6w amp).

.If you need a very small amp for travel, this is it. Otherwise, the Roland Microcube is a far better small amp.
If you are looking for a versatile and portable practice amp, spend a bit more and get the Roland.

.Great built in tuner. I tune standard, D, C, and flat. Has good player dynamics, responds well. With gain engaged, I can go from a really good crunch/ lead tone to a nice clean tone by rolling off the volume. Looks great and sounds better than most of the other plastic practice amps. Nice tolex, Cloth and grill.

It is really nice mini amp. Has good features for how small it is. Good for just sitting on the couch with or outside and playing and not having to fire up the big amps. Does not come with a power cord!
