The Godin 5th Avenue Jazz Guitar is the next logical step up the 5th Avenue series ladder. Following on the success of the Kingpin models with cutaway, the 5th Avenue Jazz Guitar has features that Jazz guitarists have been asking for.
This very elegant instrument was made with the jazz player in mind. This upper echelon 5th Avenue Jazz features arched back as well as arched top and comes in two all high-gloss custom polished finishes, including Sunburst HG and Natural Flame HG. The Sunburst model consists of Canadian wild cherry top, back & sides and the Natural Flame model features flame maple top, back & sides with Canadian wild cherry core.
Other features include a smooth sounding floating Godin Mini-humbucker jazz pickup in the neck, ebony fingerboard, ebony volume and tone knobs, classic multi-layered binding, high-ratio open geared nickel tuners, engraved floating pickguard, custom tailpiece and adjustable Tusq bridge by Graphtech.
Compared to other 5th Avenue guitars, the Jazz model has a body that is slightly smaller with contours that make it even more comfortable to play. This body design produces a bright and punchy acoustic tone. A single Godin floating humbucker provides an intimate electric sound with superior dynamics, perfectly suitable for both fingerstyle and flatpicking.
Crafted with beautiful Canadian willd cherry or flame maple, the body of the 5th Avenue Jazz has a molded arched top and back. The gloss finish highlights the beauty of these body woods. Classic f-holes, contoured high-gloss headstock, floating pickguard and cream binding enhance the guitar's jazzy looks, while an adjustable Tusq bridge by Graphtech and ebony fingerboard contribute to the guitar's jazzy tone.
Godin includes a TRIC case that provides a level of impact protection for your 5th Avenue Jazz rivaling that offered by many flight cases. The TRIC case is just slightly heavier than a typical gig bag, yet its ability to resist changes in temperature make it one of the finest innovations in guitar protection in years.

As a long time acoustic player, I have been very interested in jazz guitar and have taken jazz lessons for a number of years. However, playing jazz on a Taylor acoustic just doesn't cut it. Godin has made this guitar an excellent value and I have found it to be an great choice to foster my jazz interests. Godin makes quality guitars, and this model is no exception. I purchased the natural maple finish. The wood is beautifully matched. All details were attended to. The ebony fingerboard is very fast, especially after I dropped the action. The Graphtech bridge was easily adjustable. The mini-humbucker has a nice warm tone when played through my Roland Acoustic Amp. This is the perfect guitar for my finger-style and chord melody arrangements. The guitar projects nicely when played acoustically. I put Tomastik light flatwounds on it, which gives me the mellow tone that I enjoy. My jazz instructor, who plays a $7000 custom made arch top, was very impressed with the guitar and also enjoyed playing it. The guitar comes with the Tric case, which is very sturdy, and extremely light. I feel that the 5th Avenue has been an excellent choice and well worth the investment. I trust that it will give me many years of enjoyment.
