Fun. Unique. Cool. Perfect for the power trio. Kick it in while the guitar player solos and you got your rhythm guitar in a box. Takes your bass note and turns the note into a powerchord. So I guess that is easy enought to understand. Does it do the job? Absolutely. I would say that it sounds more guitar powerchord like with overdrive as opposed to without. Can also kind of get an organ-like sound out of it. Which might be useful, I know it is for me, but wasn't expecting that. Play with your tone and overdrive and you can find some very useful settings. I keep my dry signal going to my bass amp, and send my wet signal to a guitar amp (which I have plenty of). I find that to provide a better sound, otherwise, it feels like you lose the definition of your bass line. Which you don't want to do. I want to keep my bass line, but also create a wall of sound. Of course, the better guitar amp, the better the sound and all of that. I have also considered running a guitar overdrive between the Fishman and my guitar amp so i can easier switch off my and on overdrive effects when I need them. Overall, great pedal.
Like all Fishman products, a bit on the high end of what you would like to pay, but like all Fishman products it is a bit higher end product.

. I put this unit into the signal chain AND by itself and the results were poor! The tracking is very weak ie in the higher register. If you happen to do a faster run with fingers or a pick the poor tracking is obvious.
I don't do speed metal and our band does 80's covers ect. I have been playing bass for 15 years so I'm not an infant. All I can say is: Don't waste the $$

.I don't really understand why more of these aren't being sold or discussed, it works as advertised, i set the knobs a lot more to the right than I have viewed others doing in the 2 videos I have been able to find online.. use a choruse and eq pedal to sweeten the pot

this pedal seems sturdy enough, I haven't driven over it with a truck, but it seems to stand being thrown into a milk crate full of cables, with ease.
the fact that this pedal is quite costly, may be the reason more aren't being sold or talked about anywhere..

.This pedal is a little difficult to figure out, but once you do it is awesome. If you're in a power trio, it's great for when your guitarist breaks into a lead. Hit the switch and you're playing power bhords along with your bass line. Great for filling in the mid range sound. Take your time getting used to the settings and then hit the switch!
