Fishman's Full Circle Double Bass Pickup is a favorite among serious bass players. Since its release the Full Circle has been hailed as a vast improvement over the BP-100, and is capable of capturing the essence of the double bass. Whether you're going for woody and round or articulate with an attack, the Full Circle gets the job done.
Encased in a sturdy aluminum height adjuster wheel, the Full Circle offers an accurate, transparent sound. To match the pickup to your instrument and playing style, a fine-tuning feature lets you quickly choose between an open, resonant response or a drier and more focused amplified tone.
A Pro-EQ Platinum Bass, Pro-EQ II, or your favorite preamp is recommended, but not required.
Professional installation strongly encouraged.

Well at least is a good tone sound but remember is a piezo pickup so it's not very natural the sound that you are going to get from this pickup. A preamp is gonna help a little. You gotta buy a good mic to get a real upright bass sound. It works for me because I play more live than in studio. It gives a good tone but without bottom which is bad. Feedback is going to be your first problem at high wolumes but with a good graphic EQ AND a feedback exterminator like Sabine FBX it can solve your problem to play at medium venues. I played in a park with 7000 people in a huge stage and I got a lot of feedback from my bass, I think I have to tape the F holes of my bass like in the old times...Anyways, If you need to use your Upright bass for small gigs like jazz gigs go for it otherwise you have to spend a lot of money like I did and I still have problems though. Give a try and see what happens. It works for me.
Fishman Full Circle Double Bass Pickup
.I've tried several upright bass pickups over the years and the Full Circle is the best one yet. Compared side by side with the popular David Gage Realist it might not sound as natural, but in a live band setting it offers a smooth, even sound with more high end detail. When paired with a good preamp (I use the Fishman Pro EQ Platinum) you can achieve a decent amount of volume and by turning the bridge adjusters you can alter the sound slightly. It also sounds good plugged directly into the amplifier if you have one that's suited for upright bass. If you don't have an adjustable bridge you will need to pro to install this pickup, but if your bridge is adjustable it's easy to install it yourself.
