Dunlop Heavy Core guitar strings are uniquely designed for the player that enjoys higher tension at standard tuning or normal tension at dropped tunings. Dunlop's proprietary core-to-wrap ratios are meticulously calculated so the player can really dig in while retaining sound fundamentals. Heavy Core Strings, like all Dunlop guitar strings, are manufactured with high quality of materials and engineered for great tone, balance, and feel.

Great choice for players like myself that play in standard tuning a lot, but have a pick attack and/or vibrato that pulls the average set of "medium" strings out of tune. The slightly thicker low end gives a tad more tone, and the higher tension keeps these in tune better than most other sets. They have a consistent and unique tone that works great for many types of music. The price is also quite reasonable for what is essentially a type of "custom" string gauge. Way to go, Dunlop!

.Try them out, it's definetly worth it.
I won a set of Heavey Cores thru Dunlop about a year ago, not expecting much more from the regular Dunlops. WOW. These sound amazing, have the same feel as Ernie Balls. Great for meatl, which is what they were aiming for. Great chunk and clarity at the same time. Last around a month or so.
Top Notch, Dunlop hit it out of the park. Haven't had one break.
For the price, it's absolutely worth it. I buy the 6 packs just becuase it's more economincal and always on hand. Never been an Ernie Ball guy, most players swear by them, but I hate changing strings every two weeks.

.These strings ring. They are crisp, clear and still have a wonderful vintage vibe tone. The slightly thicker (10-48) than standard (10-46) wound strings add a little girth on the bottom end for a nice fat round sound.

.I've been using these for a year now. I used to use Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys, but I wanted something just a tad bit thicker and this fit my needs perfectly.
These have great tone, last long (I usually keep a set on a guitar for 3-4 weeks), and are easy to bend.
Tension wise, this gauge works great for E and D standard, Drop C etc.
Any lower i recommend the Heavy Core "Heavier" set :)

.Great strings. We play in Eb. They sound EXCELLENT. This set allows you to still rip your solos and you get a nice beefy low end. TONS of pros use these and I see why. Highly recommended!

.I was surprised at how good these strings are; will definitely get the six pack next time. Like the name says, the are for detuned guitars. I would go with a regular .10 gauge set for regular tuning (or whatever your guitar manufacturer suggests). Dunlop pretty much does all things well; great company.
