Since its introduction almost 20 years ago, The Special-II has met the needs of countless musicians with its combination of Les Paul features, great tone and affordability. The Special II Plus Top Limited Edition Electric Guitar is made with a flamed maple top, mahogany body, bolt-on mahogany neck, smooth 22-fret rosewood fingerboard, and is every bit as handsome as its uptown cousins.

Providing the sizzle and snarl that you can only get from humbuckers is a 650R (neck) and 700T (bridge) pickup combo. You'll be amazed how these U.S.A. designed pickups with their high-output magnets add more highs with increased definition and no muddiness. Slightly over-wound, the hotter 700T bridge pickup is smooth but can give you a little extra scream or growl when you need it while never losing its rich combination of enhanced lows and crystal clear highs.

I ordered this as a "grade 2" just because of the price and you can never have too many Les Pauls! Boy was I surprised! This guitar is beautiful, sounds great and was a bargain! It is stamped on the back of the headstock "limited Edition" EE-Epiphone-e Custom Shop" Do yourself a favor and buy this guitar!

Nice playing guitar, no issues, neck is great, no rough fret ends, nice guitar, esp for the money. I bought the transparent black finish, but unless you're under bright lights or the sun, it's hard to see the detail, but again no worries, it's a very acceptable finish. The pick ups are average, they get muddy especially the neck, but if all I was going to do was jam at a buddy's or at home with it I probably wouldn't even change them out.

I did put a set of Seymour Duncans in it, a set of Hot Rodded, and I am very pleased. It is a very nice guitar now, plays and sounds fantastic. Cost me less than 330 beans total, so that's pretty righteous too.

.Love, LOve, LOVE this guitar! I bought it used from a friend who upgraded to a Gibson Les Paul, and since 2015 this has been my primary guitar in the band I play in. I love the slim taper D neck, it's thinner than my Fender Stratocaster and it's never been easier to bend on the neck past the 12th fret! The action is so smooth, I typically don't like finished necks because they tend to get sticky when my hand sweats, but with this guitar the finish doesn't impact my speed or the action. I really don't use much of the neck pick-up, in terms of tone I usually use the bridge pick-up and roll the tone back to about 6 or 7 for my likeness.

I definitely recommend this guitar to anyone who is looking for the Les Paul sound in a more affordable guitar. I am very pleased with what I'm able to do with this guitar!! One thing I would change is the tuning keys, my G-string (hahahahah) goes out when I play hard. I have plans on installing some Grovers to fix this though, all in all it's a minor fix.

got it in trans black and its nothing like pictured. hardly any stripes can be seen even under bright lights or picture flash. Its just straight up black.... save yourself some money and just buy a special 2 in black. it just cost me 33 big ones to ship back....totally ruined Christmas....thanks a lot musicians friend

.bass player wanting to be a little more diverse but not a lot of $$$. This guitar suprized me.. absolutely has to be the best bang for the buck.pleasently suprized by the clear tones, stayes in tune. Some of my friends ( real Guitarist) have played this and are equaly suprised.. great purchase.

.Great sounding guitar. I have a Fender Strat and while that plays slightly better, this guitar sounds a lot better, fuller. I think the quality is more than one could expect for a guitar at this price point. I'm totally pleased with it.

.I use this for the home !!! And minor recording !!! I enjoy playing this guitar and its one of my main quick graps !!! Its been a good fun guitar for a couple years now !!! And I have the metal flake light blue and people notice it right off as of to date....looks good plays well !!! Every intermediate player need's one of these to push them along !!! Thanks !!! .Good craftsmanship, nice tone and volume, set up good from the factory, and feels nice and plays well. For the money you can't do better. I owned a Epi Les Paul tuxedo and this is close to being just as nice as far as workmanship and sound.
