The king of solid body guitars, the Les Paul Custom made its debut in 1954 after the initial success of the Les Paul Goldtop. Les Paul himself originally suggested black as a great color for a new Les Paul because it looked "classy" and went well with a tuxedo on stage. Now, you can own this Les Paul Custom in a limited edition Silverburst finish. And with its chrome appointments, fully bound body, neck and headstock and mother-of-pearl inlays, we think you'll still agree that the Limited Edition EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Les Paul Custom is "dressed to kill." Now featuring ProBucker 2 and ProBucker 3 humbucking pickups, chrome hardware, multi-binding on body (top and back), neck and headstock as well as split-diamond mother-of-pearl headstock and block fretboard inlays, it's as gorgeous as it is deadly. Case sold separately.

Went to the music store for a tuner and saw this on the wall. Always wanted a Gibson LP Custom Silverburst but the cost was a bit much. I really looked this one over for any flaws or faults as it is made in China and I couldn't find any. I was impressed with the binding, tuners, finish, coil tap,and weight. I have quite a few guitars and two of my favorites are my '99 Gibson LP Studio Plus w/ebony fretboard, and my '82 Electra Workingman X280, so as you can see this Epi had some high standards to meet. I bought it on my way to our practice session and intended on bringing it right back if it turned out to be a flop. Plugged it into my Line 6 Flextone II with a M13 effects board for flavor and I was very impressed with the action, tone, high end, crunch factor, and weight. Our band leader was impressed as well and remarked on the sounds that came from this beautifully constructed axe. There is no thought of returning it and I would say that it ranks up there with my favorite players. The coil tap function is a nice addition for flexibility and I like the sound of the pups. Nicely done EE-Epiphone-e, nicely done!

.I started playing on a praise team about 6 weeks ago. I ordered this guitar because of its awesome good looks. With the split coils combined with my Mustang II amp the effects are endless. I'm a disabled Veteran with severe back pain this guitar makes my life not just tolerable but enjoyable. I'll never master this guitar but I'll have fun trying.

.After my previous Epi LP met with an unfortunate accident, I was in the market for a replacement. I didn't want to shell out thousands, so a Gibson was out of the question. I walked into my local music store, and this guitar caught my eye immediately. She was the first guitar of about 8 or 9 that I took for a test run, and after playing around with the other candidates, I new that she was perfect. It required very little setup, the tone was near-Gibson quality, and the weight, style, look and feel was exactly what I wanted in a mid-range priced guitar. I played it for the first time at band practice last night, and only had to make minor tuning adjustments 2 or 3 times in a 5 hour period, instead of after every 2 or 3 songs as with my other LP. I would definitely recommend this to an experienced player on a budget. Can't wait to take her to the stage!

.I had been drroling over the alpine white version of this guitar for about 6 months but could never find one in town. Walked into the store and this one was staring at me begging me to play it. Make a long story short, I've had it for about 4 months now and I absolutely love it. It plays metal and hard rock perfectly though my peavey special 212. If you want a good Les Paul without completely killing your wallet, buy this one, it's well worth it

.Awesome guitar and for the buck you can't beat it. I have had it almost 3 weeks and can't complain. Pick ups sound great and the guitar plays well. I love the silver burst, it matches my bass guitar and there a mean combo ha. But yes over 5 stars great guitar.

.This guitar is definitely a beauty. The finish is nice, the probucker pickups are decent sounding. When I got the guitar, the action on the strings was really high and the neck wasn't straight. I tried lowering the action by lowering the bridge, and I got a lot of fret buzz and the action was still a little high. Quality control in the guitar set up department at epiphone is definitely lacking. There's a sticker on the guitar that says set up and inspected in the USA, however the guitar wasn't set up properly. (This is the 2nd epiphone les paul I bought with the same problem) I had to take it to a guitar shop to have the neck straightened out and the action lowered without causing fret buzz. After installing high grade wiring, switch, pots, and 57 classic pickups, this guitar is now a beast. The guitar shop I brought it to had Kirk Hammet's back stage Gibson les paul that he rehearsed on before shows, and we compared my guitar and his, and the owner and a few other guitar players in the store said mine sounded just as good if not better :) Overall I'm pretty happy with the purchase, but I wish epiphone would step up their quality control.

.As soon as I plugged this guitar in, it cut right through with stunning clarity. In overdrive, it has a nice thick crunch, without being muddy. I got this to replace a vintage 1979 Gibson Les Paul. With this EE-Epiphone-e, I don't miss the Gibson at all.

.Nice guitar for the money. Not its Gibson cousin but still quality built. Pelham Blue is beautiful. Slight neck and bridge adjustment were required. Pickups are good not great. The knobs are a little high. Fretwork is good. Inlay work is good. Overall look is very good.

.This is for SKU - H79044000001000 (Silverburst)
This guitar got very positive reviews and I have a Gibson LP Studio in Silverburst so I thought I'd give the Epi a try to see the differences.
Night and day on this one - buy the Gibson. Someone in EE-Epiphone-e's quality control department is sleeping.
The finish is very good and there don't seem to be any nicks or dings like others have mentioned. However, I've got fret buzz all over the place and the neck isn't straight. I'm guessing someone adjusted the truss rod in an attempt to get rid of the buzz. FAIL. In addtion I get a little noise from the strings and I'm guessing it's because of the massivly deep slots in the nut. No reason for them to be THIS deep. To top it off the knobs sit very high up on the pots. They all sit pretty high off the guitar (you can easily see the nut and threads on the pots). But on in particluar looks like it is on the very tip of the pot. It looks like you have it pulled up for the coil splitting when you actually don't. Epic fail on quality control here.
I recently purchased an Epi LP Special for a fraction of the cost of this one, but the Special's neck feels great to play. This one does not.
The pick ups on this guitar are ok, but no where close to the Gibson.
I'll take this one to a luthier to get the issues resolved and a new nut (likely new pickups too) and I'm sure it will be great. But for this kind of money, my first upgrade shouldn't be spending a decent amount of cash to get factory problems corrected.
Roll the dice. I have purchased some really great guitars from EE-Epiphone-e in the last few years, but it seems like a crapshoot as far as a "good one" or a "bad one".
Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom PRO Electric Guitar Silver Burst
.This is about instrument #11101511696. I have always been intrigued by EE-Epiphone-e, and bought a G-400 that I gave away. I saw this instrument and decided to go for it because my Gibson Les Paul is getting old and I wanted to use a practice instrument in its place. Upon receiving this Epi, The finish and double multi-ply binding was fabulous. But I strummed it and acoustically it didn't sound right. I plugged it in and it sounded worse. I really looked it over and found a number of problems. The Grover tuners are good, but 14:1 tuners just don't cut it for accuracy unless the intrument has a locking Floyd Rose. So I changed them out for 18:1 Grover locking Rotomatics. I replaced the cheap plastic nut with a GraphTech TUSQ. The mounting stud on the low E end was exposed about 1/8" so you could see the splines, and required several careful but aggressive taps with a body hammer to reseat it(had to remove bridge). This was the reason the instrument sounded poorly and actually was causing a slight twist in the neck. I readjusted the truss rod and reintoned it- later. The electronics were not up to industry standard and disposed; The switch cover and the control plate cover were installed inside out. I replaced the pickups and pots with an EMG 81X/85 setup and a SD onboard preamp; installed an Orange Drop cap for master tone; changed the stopbar to a TonePros aluminum stopbar, and Schaller style strap locks. The worst two issues remained; The fretboard was so dry from being overheated during curing that it required several applications of fretboard conditioner. The fretwork was the worst on any instrument I have ever owned. The frets made a grinding sound when the strings were stretched, so I had to recrown and polish the frets. So that's it. I wanted to return it, but out of love of the Les Paul style body, I kept it. Similar to Fender, the EE-Epiphone-e line needs to be upgraded. In the meantime, shop around. In hindsight I would have saved myself a lot of money and bother by buying an ESP LTD EC401 FM for not much more money. And Charvel is back on the map with its new Desolation line. BC Rich is also making some great new mainstream style instruments now. The "Quality Checked In USA" tag on the EE-Epiphone-e, well, needs some careful review by Gibson management, in my opinion.
