This guitar was shipped internationally and arrived safely and quite fast too. It was used and labelled as level 2. At first I could not find any imperfections at all but after a very careful examination I found two small indentations in the binding of the lower bout where I rest my right arm. Apart from that, I had to remove a small amount of green substance from the inner lining of the sound hole (not mould-probably some remnant of the polishing). There were also quite a few excess glue spots on the inside of the guitar and the frets could do with a little work but these are minor flaws that don't affect the performance.
The sound is of course very subjective but I found it pleasing with that punchy snare-drum quality on the trebles when played hard. The sustain is short as expected from a flamenco model. It seems to intonate reasonably well after changing to a fresh set of strings. So far I have only used a set of D'Addario Flamencos but they worked very well.
I think this Cordoba i a good choice for the player that want that distinctive short sustain flamenco sound. The is of course a good choice for flamenco but could also work well in world music, latin styles and some classical pieces depending on your personal sound preference.
There are a lot of flamenco guitars available online in this price range. As there few or none flamenco guitars to try in my part of the country (Sweden) I went with a quite extensive online research and settled on the Cordoba because of the consistently positive reviews. There is a China-made Cordoba with solid back and sides available in the same price range, which some players consider an important plus. Others argue that there are no difference. Anyway, I liked the sound of the laminate b/s better and I think it was a little less money som I went with that.
