Slightly larger than the Requinto 580, the Cadete is a 3/4 size guitar (615mm scale length). It has the traditional Spanish 7 fan bracing, a solid Cedar top and mahogany back and sides. Additional features include a hand inlaid wooden rosette, gold tuning machines with pearl buttons and a rosewood fingerboard. An adjustable truss rod is built into the neck. This is a great guitar for anyone looking for a lightweight, comfortable, and easy playing instrument.
The Cordoba Cadete comes strung with high tension Savarez guitar strings, which are meant to be used in standard E tuning only. For a guitar that is designed to withstand higher pitched tunings, consider Cordoba's C1 1/4, C1 1/2, or Requinto 580.

The Cordoba Cadet is not a toy and I bought it for me. I play a lot and just need to get away from the big guitars at times. I looked at everything else I could find on the market. I found feature and quality shortages in all of them exept the Cadet. I think the Cadet is as good as it gets.
The Cordoba Cadet is a reduced size, typical classical guitar. It has a cedar top, fan bracing, laminate mahogany back and sides, and a mahogany neck with a truss rod (key supplied). The rosette is inlaid wood. The fingerboard, bridge, headstock overlay, heel cap, and binding are rosewood. The Cadet has a backstrip and end piece. The nut and saddle are bone. The finish is gloss polyurethane. The tuners are gold color with pearl plastic buttons. The nut is narrow and the neck is thin. The scale is about 1 1/2 inches shorter than a normal classical guitar. This guitar is very light. It is supplied with a nice gig bag.
The finish is well done. The tuners work well and are nice looking. The rosette was inlaid very well. There are no fret issues at all and the setup was excellent. Construction is first rate with no sloppy joints inside and no glue globs. The gig bag is well made, nicely padded, and hinged to allow the guitar to be removed easliy. Intonation is fine and the sound is big and bold for a short scale and small body.
In my opinion, the Cadet is the highest value, reduced size guitar on the market. The features, quality, and sound are absolutely the best of the several I have tried. You can pay less and you will get less.

.The sales pictures don't do this guitar justice, it's absolutely beautiful and the workmanship is perfect.
The voice is full and rich. I have a full size classical guitar that I bought for it's beautiful sound, and this guitar sounds just as good as that one.
When I got the guitar it had a dead "B" string, that just went "thunk" at the first fret. As soon as I replaced that string (it had a nick in it.) the guitar's true voice came out. So if you get one and it doesn't sound right, check the strings before you give up. I can't wait to see what this guitar sounds like after it opens up from playing.
I bought this guitar for my own use, as my full size classical guitar is just too big for me. The size of this guitar is perfect for me. "Just a note of caution here." There is no industry standard on fractional size guitars. If you need a smaller size guitar check the actual scale length of the one you are looking at before buying it. This guitars scale length measured twenty four and two tenth inches.
One last note, this guitar is very comfortable & easy to play. Did you ever sit an a chair and just say "ahhh?" Well this guitar feels like that.

.The Cordoba Cadet cedar top guitar is well made, nice looking and most importantly, great sounding. I tried out several others in this price range, but this little Cordoba blew them all away. The cedar top really resonates and gives a nice warm, full sound for a small guitar. I also like that the neck width is not as wide as the full size classical, but wide enough for finger style guitar playing.
The tuners held tune well, but I replaced them with a set of Gotoh Classical Tuners from Stew Mac for a more subdued look. I also replaced the stock strings with a set of D'Addario Pro Arte classical strings, which greatly improved the tone and intonation. I recommend replacing the stock strings as soon as possible as they are pretty poor quality. I also lowered the action some on mine, filing the nut slots some and lowering the saddle as the setup "out of the box" was a little high for my liking. But that's personal preference, others might like a higher action on a classical guitar.
All in all, I'm very happy with this guitar and would definitely recommend it to anyone, not just the beginner player.

.I just purchased the Cordoba Cadet 3/4 Classical Guitar for my daughters birthday and all I have to say is WOW! It looks great! I was considering purchasing the Yamaha student classical, but after seeing this beauty, I knew this was the one for my daughter. The fit, finish, action, and sound are impeccable, not to mention the gig bag that comes with this guitar is outstanding - heavy weight nylon. I must say for the money I paid and the features this guitar has, spend the little extra and purchase this guitar for your child. After years of experience playing classical and fingerstyle, I really wish I had this guitar to start out on when I was young.

.There is little more that I can say other than that I was completely blown away by this guitar. I bought it to have a second nylon string "travel guitar". It sounds very close to a full sized classical, the fret board is pretty much flawless and smooth, and I cannot locate any flaws in the finish at all. I can't distinguish the neck from the neck of a full sized classical. It plays great and the sound is close to that of a full sized classical guitar as well.I can't recommend this guitar enough. Not merely for a beginner. I have tried several other 3/4 sized nylon string guitars in the past, and this guitar is probably the best in class.

.I bought this guitar for my son who is beginning classical guitar lessons. The instrument has a wonderful sound, easy to tune, is a good size for young musicians, and looks beautiful. When he is not practicing, I get to play it, too! I highly recommend this guitar if you are looking for a classical guitar for a beginner.

.This has been a great guitar. I contacted Cordoba directly with concerns I had heard about bridge issues, which they responded was an extremely low number and was absolutly an isolated incedent. Also they responded that if that were to happen they would replace it under their warranty. So without hesitation I got it in the mail and it has been a fine little instrument. Tone is surprising, make is great-really good finish. Light weight, and easy to play. Great value.

.The made-in-China Cordoba Cadet is well-finished and, thanks to its solid top, produces reasonably-rich tone for a 3/4-sized instrument. That's the good news. The bad news is that my particular guitar exhibits irregular frequency response (spikes and dips in sonic output at different points along the fretboard). It's not annoying enough for me to discard the instrument, but it explains my Three Star rating.

.Having a .188 neck this is a good classical guitar for people who mainly play steel string because the neck is similar in Width. the solid cedar top sounds nice although I was disappointed with the poor quality of wood, there were some unsightly brown streaks and The width of the grain varies a lot. I gave it a 3 because of the visual defects but it's a nice sounding guitar and probably the best narrow neck classical available commercially. I tried 2 antonio hermosas, both had bad necks wouldn't stay in tune 1 minute even after strings stretched a week. This guitar stays in tune very well.

.Many adult classical players are opting for smaller scale instruments to extend their practice time and for hand comfort. Not all 3/4 guitars have the same scale measurement, so be sure and check. My regular guitar is 660mm scale, and some pieces are quite a stretch for me. I am hoping this little guitar will help me play comfortably into my old age. I found my Cordoba Cadete (barely) used and in pristine condition, so it was a great way to test smaller scale comfort without a big investment. The guitar has great tone and projects well, too. I am happy with it.
