I've been playing guitar 52 years and have a lot of equipment and playing experiance. The Squier Deluxe
I got is a quality instrument. I hope every Squire Deluxe is well made as mine. I'm writting this review to let potential buyers know that if your looking for a stratocator that I would say rivels any of the higher end strats out there, this is your ax. I find no flaws in mine, it is a joy to play. No issues with rough frets, buzzing or fretting out. Action and intonation is good. No flaws with consmetics, my Mettalic Pearl white in a knck out. The only thing I have done is install a new set of my favorite Earne Ball Super Slinkeys, lubricated the nut slots, string trees for tuning stability and tuned it up. The Duncan Design SC101's have a good classic fender tone but have a pesonallity all their own, IMHO---in a good way--Alnico 5 magnets. I reinterate, I'm judging the deluxe based on what's in front of me and I hope if you do buy this one you will be blessed as I was on getting a good one.

If you don't have a grand to spend on an American Strat, this will do. It's amazing how it sounds and plays.
I've been looking into buying a new Strat for a few years, I've owned the Protone Series and sadly sold it. I research this Strat before buying it, I bought the white one. First off, the finish is sparkly close up. Very impressed. The neck is so slick and smooth, I'd grade the thickness medium. Straight as an arrow to, no set up required. I have long fingers, use to bigger necks, but making my way around that. The tremolo was set a bit high, but I had a bone nut and 10's put on it, the set it lower. The pickups are chimy, fat and warm. I'd replace the bridge pickup though, more treble than I'd like.
I doubt you'll find a Strat for this perice that out performs this. I've owned two Squier before this, great starter guitar as well.
I'd gig with this with confidence. Very dependable, very road worthy. Worth every dime.

.This guitar was listed as a "Scratch & dent" item. I was expecting a cosmetic blemish. What I got was a guitar with a very obvious check/split on the back of the neck along with poor sanding. The neck pocket also had a crack. There's no way this guitar should have passed quality control. I have another Squier Affinity that was made in Indonesia and the neck is way better. I was hoping this would be a step up from that guitar. Not so. I wasted fifty GW's for shipping costs both ways, for a defective guitar that should never been sold. Never again will I buy a "Scratch & Dent" special from Custom Guitar's Friend.

. This guitar can be used professionally. Good tone and feel. It may irritate musicians who paid 900 to 1200 for American Strats and they may have negative comments, so keep the secret!
I purchased the Daphne Blue. I wish there was more color choices, but this one is growing on me. I may change the pick guard color to something wilder. The Duncan type pickups are more than adequate for great sound. Right out of the box it needed only tuned a little. Intonation seems right (I have not checked with a tuner yet). I plugged into a Fender MustangII amp with a litttle reverb and clean. Blown away how awesome for $299! A little Blues, Some Pearl Jam. It adapts great to distortion and most amp models.
The finish is perfect. The intonation was perfect. Stays in tune for the most part. I have had to retune the light strings after bending alot. This shoud improve when the strings are seasoned. The "Duncan Design" pickups are very good for the money, and can always be upgraded later. I have a Squier Standard also, and there is a big improvement in quality and sound with the Deluxe.
For $299, you definitely get more than you paid for.

.I recently bought a blem Squier Deluxe from MF to perform my first lefty flip. This was my first foray into the world of Fender (all other guitars have been Gibsons or Epis) and I decided flipping a Squier would be a fun project without breaking the bank.
The guitar arrived and I was expecting some nasty finish defects to justify the 30% price reduction but there were none to be found. The pearl white is beautiful and the build quality far surpasses the price point. If you can get over the fact that the headstock doesn't have "Fender" on it, you're gonna love this thing! It does everything that a Stratocaster should do AND this one already has a 22-fret neck and a super stable 2-point trem system. Trem action is silky smooth and it always seems to come back properly. After getting it all setup for left-handed playing it's been hard to put the thing down. It's got all the chime and twang you could want clean, and it dirts up nicely when you want it to.
For potential flippers, the nut slid out easily with a couple taps from a hammer and blunt nail setting spike. Then it's just a matter of getting the strap button moved to the lower horn and setting the intonation. The intonation screws in the bridge have more than enough adjustment to accommodate the flip. The whole setup job took about an hour including stringing and playing with the floating bridge springs.
What are you waiting for? Break the chains of brand snobbery and get one of these already!

I'd had my eye on one of these for a long time. I used to own a great Japanese model Strat, but it got stolen after a gig long ago and I was jonesing to replace it. I mostly play hard rock, but love the strat look, feel, and sound. I'm also not a millionaire, so liked the price point and many reviews suggested that this played like you might expect a much more expensive guitar to. I'm in no way a price snob. Some inexpensive guitars play great and some super expensive guitars sound average and most of my gear is mid-level or below, price wise. (Nevermind and VH 1 were recorded with guitars that probably cost 100 each!) I've also had some luck with on line low-end guitars before, so I gave it a try. When it came, I spent about an hour with it and generally thought I got what I paid for, and maybe a bit more. It played pretty well - not great, but not bad, and sounded good clean and with some distortion. But, the more I played it, the more it felt just a bit off. Finally I realized that the high e-string was really close to the edge of the fretboard, making it feel akward to play notes on that string, especially while bending the note or trying to give a note some vibrato. I went to a local guitar shop to compare other strats at all price points, and sure enough, the higher end ones were balanced across the fretboard, but the cheaper ones seemed to be off. Surprising because I assumed they were all designed by the same computer, but obviously not.
I returned the guitar (MF were awesome) and at their suggestion tried one more. Unfortunately, this one was worse. The high e string was still too close to the fretboard edge, but the neck was sanded poorly and felt rough to play, and the frets were really rough and you could feel the stings catch and fight their way over them when you were bending a note. So that one went back too. (again MF were great).
So I'm a bit disappointed, but I shouldn't be. I was expecting a 1500 guitar for only 300 and that is unrealistic. It was a 300 guitar. If you are just looking for something to bang around on, this will work, but you might as well just go all the way to the low end and save yourself 150. If you are looking for something quality to practice on or gig with, this is not the guitar for you.

.No guitar deserves a 10 overall, but this thing comes very, very close. IMO, the CV and Deluxe models are the top of Squier's line, and which one you choose comes down to whether you want the vintage look, feel and sound (CV) or something completely modern (Deluxe). Can't go wrong with either.
Just got my Daphne Blue Deluxe yesterday. Been playing a Squier Classic Vibe 50s Tele for a while now, and was assuming I'd match it with a CV Strat, but I decided to go with the more modern design of the Deluxe. This guitar is exactly what it claims to be: a good, solid, modern Strat. I think it's better than the MIM Strat's I've tried, and if someone handed it to me and told me it was a MIA, I'd see no big reason to doubt it.
Flawless finish, nice neck, good bridge and pickups, acceptably good pots/switch/jack, decent fretwork. Stays in tune well (I have decked the bridge, so it's down only, not floating), action is low, and intonation is spot on. Only took very minor tweaks out of the box to get it that way.
Not just a good guitar for the money, but a great guitar, period. I think you'd have to spend in the four figures to get something that feels or sounds significantly better.

.Really good guitar. I have the Pearl White one. Pretty color and very nice fit to finish! Alot lighter over the Standard, and carries a brighter tone due in part to the Duncans. Though I much would of been more happier if this Deluxe came with the alnicos of the Standard. Not to thrilled with the Duncans thats for sure, too bright for me even when dropping the tone back. But for classic stuff she sounds fine. Just don't really have my tone for drop tuning is the only real reason I gave a 4 overall. Guitar is awesome, just change the pups IMO..

.You get what you pay for, and this is exactly what I expected for what I paid for it. The Seymore Duncan pickups are comparable to a good quality Fender Strat pickup.

.This is an amazing guitar. It simply sings! Do not listen to the negatives just because a string was broken or it came with some little ding, whatever. I bought a demo, so it was already setup, perfect fret work, smooth as silk. The pickups have a sweet tone but this again is very subjective. All I did to mine was change the strings to Ernie Balls 9-42. Having said that, and this only to my liking, I will be installing custom shop 54 pu's and the a diff color pick guard. But don't waste your money on mexi strats buy this, you will very happy. One more thing, whenever you get a new guitar, you have to spend time with it. Your natural hand oils will coat the neck over time and eventually it will become your own. Also the wood itself has to get used the vibration and tones being produced as well. So don't think it will become your own overnight. No, this takes time for it all to come together. This is one of the reason that a vintage guitar sounds so much better. Cheers mates!
