Guitar arrived in perfect condition, set up with good action and feel. It has a balanced sound and more bass than you might expect from a little guitar. it breaks up a little when strummed hard, but is fantastic when finger picked. The fit and finish are incredible, and it even smells good. The size is perfect for me--I had shoulder surgery last year, and big guitars are uncomfortable to play. The sound and playability are great, and
it sounds and feels like the 0-28 I could not justify buying. Amazing for the price.

.I am testing this guitar out...so some comments. I've always loved the smaller Martins, 0-18, 00-18, 0018Vintage/Adirondack, 000-18, 00028 and 016NY I have now or have had. I have also owned a D-28 and D-18, and my preferred guitar is a prewar 00-18 at the moment. I was trying this out, and as I was talking to another person noticed that my shoulder didn't hurt--chronic rotator cuff problem. And, although I'm partial to mahogany guitars, I liked this sound, and the feeling of relaxation while playing. I never really thought a 12-fret to the body guitar would meet a need for me, but this might be the guitar that does it. It feels like the D-28 felt to me when I was 18--the perfect guitar for now. Neck has great feel everywhere, and one can hold the guitar without distorting the body, a great feature that I only appreciated in the past several years. Sweet rosewood sound, it can be loud too. Wonderful custom shop work, no buzzes, loose anything, or any concern. I have only one--no side braces or tape. I would have preferred red spruce, but for the price, the is a great guitar. For that I might overlook the new
headstock lable, unnecessary gold tuners.

.Exactly what I thought it would be only better! My wife said it has an "intimate tone". Played the first small venue yesterday. The smaller size allowed movement in and around the setting. Very comfortable.

.This is a beautiful example of a classic Martin custom guitar. The manufacturing and materials are flawless. One has to play it to really appreciate the sound from this parlor sized guitar.

.This is by far the best acoustic guitar out there in the USD 1500/2000 price range. It doesn't get better than this. The finish is stunning. For real. From the quality of the materials (stika, ebony, rosewood) to the tuners, this guitar is perfect.
When you start playing it, you feel the tone resonating in body and the neck like few guitars do. Sounds full and fat, but has a mid range that is there if you want to strum chrods around with a pick. Specifically, I'd this is a blues/folk fingerpicking monster.
Confortable, light, resonant, great looking, amazing feeling.

I've been in love with Parlor Guitars for more than 40 years. I have one back then and got rid of it for a much larger Gurian, and always regretted it. This has a long scale neck, but with the small body, it still feels like a parlor guitar. It's just incredibly responsive with a sweetness and balance that never fails to satisfy. I find it better suited to fingerstyle, and also prefer alternate open tunings, with it, but for what it is, it's an incredible value. I realize Martin took a few shortcuts to reduce cost with the neck join and the bracing--but it had no impact on the tone. I find myself always reaching for it when I want to fool around for a few minutes.

.I love this guitar. The playability far exceeded my expectations. Great guitar for a finger picker, not some much for heavy strumming (hey, it's not a Dreadnought!). The construction is flawless and I love the gold Grovers and gold Martin decal on the headstock. Guitar was made in Nazareth and states so. Just a terrific small bodied Martin. Get one while you can!
