The Martin 000-28EC Eric Clapton Signature Acoustic Guitar is handcrafted with a premium East Indian rosewood back and sides and a bookmatched top of select quartersawn Sitka spruce. Its smaller 000 body size and short 24-9/10" scale help produce delicate, balanced tones. Eric's signature is inlaid in mother-of-pearl between the 19th and 20th frets. Tastefully appointed with hand-beveled tortoise pickguard, nickel-plated open-geared machines equipped with unique butterbean knobs. Each Martin Eric Clapton Signature Guitar bears an interior label, individually numbered in sequence. Includes limited lifetime warranty and deluxe Martin hardshell case. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who want a light, bright, well-amplified accoustic guitar. The minute I first strummed it in the music store, I had to own it. I have been happy with it every day ever since!
Easily the best guitar I have ever owned, and I am now 67 years old. Incredibly bright, yet soft to the touch. Light weight, but with substantial volume. I will never buy another guitar.
Everything about it is first class!
Spendy, but worth it. Outshines all other guitars in the same price range.

.Excellant guitar, have had mine for about 5 years now and no issues whatsoever. Great sounding, playability is great, don't have a bad thing to say about it. To those who marked less than a 5 on value, they are selling for around a grand more than what I paid for it 5 years ago!

.I played (and recorded on an H2) about 100 guitars in my search for the right one for me as a recording artist and performing singer/songwriter. I have the recording of me giggling hysterically when first playing this. I happen to be a fan of the Gibson J45. It has a focused and punchy low end, unlike most Martins I've played. I don't like boom, and I don't like a fuzzy and mushy bass, so I thought I'd end up with the J45, which was one of the final cut. Also in the mix was a Gibson Hummingbird Pro Vintage which had a shimmer to it but a bit too much boom. But one of the last guitars I tried was the 000-28EC. It has the focused bass I was looking for in the Gibsons without sacrificing a bell-like top end. It's just a balanced instrument. The one I bought actually had dead, almost rusty strings on it which brought out the uniqueness of this instrument. I went through a lot of strings to try to regain that magic I heard that first time. The perfect solution for me is to allow the low E and A strings to deaden completely. Phosphor bronze takes too long for this and is too fuzzy, so go with 80/20 or 85/15. They may start bright but quickly mellow out. Once dead, leave them and only change the other 4. Another alternative is Silk and Steel, which sounds nice, but I think this guitar is better with at least light gauge bass strings and maybe even mediums. But I also like the shimmer of phosphor bronze on the D and G strings, especially Martin FX740 fingerstyle strings, which I also reviewed as my current faves. It's a beautiful instrument that may be underappreciated until the right strings are on it. One thing I have to get used to is the V-shaped neck. My hands aren't large and it's a bit bulky, but that may account for some of the tone.

.The Martin 000-28EC is the first guitar in my collection that makes me think I should get rid of some of my other guitars. It is absolutely beautiful; it has a powerful sound but can be delicate. I chose it because of the relatively short scale (easier to fret and bend notes) and because of the slightly wider neck which makes it easier to play. Minor point, but the Martin case is excellent quality. American still has the edge on excellent guitars at a reasonable price. In all honesty, I wish it did not have Eric Clapton's signature on it because some may think that is why I bought it; I bought it and love it because of its geometry, material, and sound. However, the signature is not too obvious so I can live with it. Me, satisfied customer!

.I get really irritated if someone leaves a review that is simply bashing a brand and not giving the attributes to the guitar. That said, the Martin OM28V has been noted as one of their top models as far as balanced tone. This is an amazing guitar that will hold up to anything out there, INCLUDING guitars from individual makers. No BUTS about it. The tone of this guitar is heavenly. Great bass, marvelous mid-range and singing trebles. The action on mine came in at 3/32 which is a good standard for acoustics. I heard Rory Block play hers in concert and I loved the sound of that guitar. Mine is certainly as good. I play professionally, teach at a performing art school and have my Master's in music. This guitar is worth every penny and certainly stands up to the legend of the Martin name. And yes, it will hold up to anything out there - and in my opinion it sounds and plays better than guitars built by small builders. Since they have been building guitars since 1833, and the factory is still in the Martin family, they know a thing or two about building great guitars.

.While I have been primarily an electric guitar player, every time I?ve gone to the music store, I picked up the EC Martin and played one and thought this would be the one to buy. I happened to find my guitar on consignment at a local music store for an obscenely low price and in near mint condition ? I could not pass it up.Even without the modern electric tidbits found in most acoustic guitars today, the sound is quite loud indeed. I can?t say it?s the best sounding guitar I?ve ever played because that honour goes to a 1960 Fender Strat, but I can say that it is in the top 2!About the Guitar. I love the honey coloured Sitka Spruce top and the fret board is rich black Ebony. The overall detail is subtle, very elegant and brilliant. The sound is rich, crisp and resonant. It has proved to be easy to play and a welcome addition to my collection.Care. I can say that I?m a bit worried about care, specifically as to humidity and temperature. Martin is quite specific and I?d have to say in wintertime, it?s not 72 ? 77 degrees in the house, so I?m going to have to figure that one out.All in all a steal of a deal. Whomever you are, thank you!

.I have been playing this model guitar for the last 10 years, every time I went to the music store, but never felt it would be appropriate to shell out this much dough for a guitar. Yesterday, admitting I'm not getting any younger and having made great progress on my guitar acquisition "Punch list" over the years, I decided it was time to buy the 000-28 EC. This guitar is amazing. I own 2 other Martins (D-28 and D-1) as well as a Gibson J-45. These dreadnoughts are fantastic in their own right, but I wanted something more appropriate for fingerstyle. I love the tone (balanced, not boomy bass) and the neck/fingerboard...very comfortable. This instrument is a work of art. I can't put it down! Highly recommed you try one if you are seeking a high end acoustic and you are a fingerstylist!

.Went to the music store to drop about 5000 on a new acoustic, after owning a Martin D16 (which I still own and love) I wanted something other than a Martin. Not b/c I disliked my D16, simply for a variety. However, After playing every Taylor, Guild, etc they had I was about to leave. I then saw the Clapton hanging on the wall and grabbed it. Bought it in 10 minutes. By far the best acoustic I have ever played. Neck design is fatter than normal, but fits in your palm perfectly. Tone is outstanding. I only by Martin now.

.If you own a Martin guitar you know the quality is there. I own several Martins and they all have a unique feel and sound to them. The impressive thing about the 00028ec is its tone. Every string has an equal tonal quality??.something I wasn?t use to hearing with my other Martins. I have a Fishman Matrix Infinity pickup installed in my 00028ec?..It has a phenomenal sound. I love this guitar.

.I currently own a Martin D28, 000-15m, and Taylor 614. I've been looking for a smaller body guitar specifically for fingerstyle blues so of course my search lead me to the 000-28ec. The 000-28ec is far and away the best guitar I've ever played. The tone, balance, and feel is just amazing. I was a bit concerned about the neck as it's the first guitar I've owned with the modified v neck. The first few days there was some soreness, much like what you experience when learning a new chord shape. After the first week, the soreness is gone and I absolutely love the feel of the neck. I'm 6'0 and have a bit larger hands than normal, but not out of the ordinary.
I also went with the tobacco sunburst and boy she's a beauty! This is the guitar to end all guitars for me.
