It took three of these models to finally meet the proper requirements of a proper functioning instrument. The first one I received had a cracked nut on the E and A strings and a coil switch with a mind of it's own. The 2nd model had another damaged nut and a non functioning bridge stripped at the high E string and finally the 3rd one I'm writing a review on was alright it worked properly the only knock on it was the bridge pickup very muddy surprisingly the neck pickup was okay specially through a clean channel and the coil switch active. After setting the action tweaking the neck and lowering the bridge this thing played awesome and had a real comfortable feel and response to it all it was missing was the sound to complement the feel to it so in came the Dimarzio DP-228 Crunch Lab and now it has awaken from it's sleep! She screams like a banshee and purrs like a kitten very satisfied with this purchase maybe in the near future I will be upgrading the tuning keys. On a side note to any musician out there who happens to read this review if you ever purchase the gold coverage I was told that the only upgrade that will void your warranty is if you upgrade the strap buttons go figure not pickups etc, etc just food for thought share this and let others know.
.I purchased this more as a wall hanger but was surprised by the great bright heavy sound. very playable, great access to higher frets and stays in tune for the most part. The quality is a little suspected and it does not seem to have much of a coil splitting effect. But for the price it plays a lot like Ibanez RG. looks like they put in some good engineering and less into pots and jacks.
