It's an awesome guitar! Plays great, versitile, and well worth the price in my opinion. You will not be disappointed.
Jackson Scott Ian Signature T1000 Soloist 2H w/ Floyd Rose Electric Guitar Silver Burst Ebony Fingerboard
.This is what an artist signature should be - take a popular guitar and add a number of custom features that wouldn't normally be available. No sir, this is not a Soloist with just a new coat of paint:
-Oversized mahogany body with a thick maple cap
-Unfinished maple neck, with a slightly fatter neck carve
-Top mount Floyd Rose (which I actually prefer, because less body wood is removed)
-Single volume, no tone (it can be argued the tone pot, even when opened all the way, sucks a little high-end). Volume knob moved a little back and out of the way (something a lot of Soloist players ask for).
-Pickup selector like a Les Paul
-Custom inlays
The only downside? This sucker is heavy.
Now that specs are out of the way, let's talk tone - this guitar sounds exactly like it should... warmth and beefiness from the mahogany body, but the maple neck, maple cap, and ebony board result in a nice clarity and snappy response. I've put a few sets of pickups through this guitar and she prefers higher gain pickups than the Gibson 57' Classics I tried (Currently she's got a set of Bare Knuckle War Pigs that just crush). Overall this guitar sounds great and is a lot of fun to play.
On a side note, my buddy that swears by Les Pauls gives this his full approval. His initial thought: "What the heck is this, a Jackson? Why's it so heavy?" After playing: "What the heck is this Jackson? Why's it sound so good?"

.This guitar is capable of far more than shred. With the right amp and settings it can cop a great country or jazz tone and is great for blues as well.
That said, when playing the heavy stuff is when you'll notice the features that make this guitar shine. The neck through and dense body provide great snap and clarity when riffing through a highly saturated amp. The neck through construction seems to improve on clarity as well as sustain. The frets are HUGE on this guitar. It almost feels as though I'm playing a scalloped fretboard - and that's a good thing in my opinion. The large frets making riffing and tapping a breeze.
It's a great guitar for metal but please don't be tempted into thinking that metal is all it can do, it's a lot more versatile than it seems at first glance.
I feel blessed to have it.
Jackson Scott Ian Signature T1000 Soloist 2H w/ Floyd Rose Electric Guitar Silver Burst Ebony Fingerboard
.This guitar is as close to perfect as can be. I am stunned at the quality and availability. It's built like a tank - the maple cap & larger body make it heavey, but it's worth it. The neck is fantastic...it's gunstock oiled bare wood. The body finish is so beautiful...the picture here does not do justice.
JACKSON GUITARS RULE THE WORLD
Jackson Scott Ian Signature T1000 Soloist 2H w/ Floyd Rose Electric Guitar Silver Burst Ebony Fingerboard
.This guitar is the holy grail! I am at a loss for words to describle this masterpiece.
Everything is perfect. The looks are just stunning...the pictures do not do it justice.
USA Jackson with 2 humbuckers, top-mounted orig Floyd Rose, volume knob out of picking distance (thankfully), pickup swithch mounted on the horn, mahogany body, compound radius neck-thru with ebony fretboard and large frets.
All assembled perfectly - the guitar arrived nearly perfectly in tune!
Sometimes I just leave the guitar out to stare at it in amazement. It's that awesome.
Guys at Jackson, this things is outstanding. Nothing comes close to the materials and build quality.
Scott Ian, THANK YOU so much for designing this wonderful guitar. I would be honored if you would autograph mine - please contact me!
