The Ibanez RGD2127Z Prestige 7-string electric guitar is made in Japan with Prestige craftsmanship by Japan's finest luthiers. It's built for heavy rocking and for outputting clear sound down to the lowest note without losing playability. The Ibanez guitar's extra-long, lightning-fast, 26-1/2" Prestige Wizard HP neck is ultra-smooth, thin, and strong, and is backed with KTS Titanium reinforcement-it's the best in shred. This sleek 7-string metal monster is tuned down low and built to reach the highest realms of metal fury.
The Ibanez Prestige RGD2127Z guitar features V77/V87 custom designed pickups for down tuning. These pickups are specially designed for capturing more low-end by regenerating a wider tonal range. Instead of losing the low-end, they output it with rich, harmonic tone. A lot of hard rockers hold their guitars low, and the sharp-shaped Ibanez RGD guitar body achieves good balance and extra-deep scoop cuts on lower horn for easier access to high frets for low-slingers. The Edge Zero 7, the next generation of Edge knife-edge tremolos, employs design advantages from the high tech ZR Zero Resistance trem such as the Zero Point System, an onboard intonation screw and arm torque adjustment.
V77/V87 pickups
The Ibanez RGD2127Z Prestige electric guitar comes equipped with custom designed pickups for down tuning. These pickups are specially designed for capturing more low-end by regenerating a wider tonal range. Instead of losing the low-end, they output it with rich, harmonic tone. The V87 bridge humbucker uses alnico magnets to produce a rich harmonic tone with clarity in the low end. The V77 neck pickup's ceramic magnets produce a smooth and dynamic tone with warm midrange.

This guitar is my favorite 7 sting, why? Because it's a no nonsense guitar that was well thought out. The increase in scale length makes a world of difference in sound and playability, I play it a half step down and that is perfect for this guitar IMO. You can also play it in standard or up a half step with the open b string just fine too. I can get the action on this guitar as low as I want, no problem. to sum it up quickly, this guitar balances perfectly, plays comfortably, the jack is logically placed and angled, the volume knob is in the right place, and the pickup selector switch is right where I want it, and the guitar just sounds damn good.Wasn't the biggest Ibanez fan until I picked up this guitar. Blows the doors off of any production model guitar period!

.If you're playing metal , look no further.. I upgraded from a six string, but I've tried several 7 Stringers, none come even close. The extra scale is hardly noticeable in playing, but aids in the low tuning. Tune it a step down and you're in "chugland". I love the pickup position and the rubberized volume control. Ok, the pickups are not GREAT but then again, how hard is it to swap em? Get this, add lundgrens and you'll play till your fingers bleeeed!

.The extra scale length is amazing. I have big hands so it makes it more comfortable for shredding, and it makes downtuning very easy. this is a phenomenal guitar. It has a great feel to it and it has an extremely comfortable body. The pickups sound alright, but if you're really going for great tone, swap them with some Bare Knuckles.
