Through the clean channel it has a crisp and clear sound, great for playing some funky numbers. Switching to the neck pickup gives you great bluesy tones to play around with and the hollow body adds to the roundness of these clean tones. Adding some colour with a bit of overdrive you start to appreciate where the tone and backbone sound of AC/DCs riffs come from. The punchy tone bursts through and complements any rock riffs that are at the tip of your fingers. Whacking up the gain or switching to a second overdrive channel, the guitar does you proud for some ballsy, grungy tones, good for blasting out some Metallica style riffs.
The playability of this guitar is great, helped with the double cutaway you can easily play all notes on the fretboard. It’s comfortable and feels first-rate in your hand whilst playing. The note definition is crisp as you would expect and it stays in tune well.
Being semi-hollow the guitar is light but not off putting, it is finished well with binding round the body and the neck with mother of pearl inlays in the frets and the headstock logo.
