I bought this device in Nashville in the 90s and have incorporated it into my recordings(Honeys, Harleys, Crawfish & Beer CD, 2009) and my live shows. Very easy to hook up. The instructions are on the bottom of device. There are 2 ways to go, the best way is to use a second amp. (a cheap 15 watt amp will do since you are only pushing a driver.) It always attracts attention and has helped distinguish me in a town where everybody is a guitar picker. A very handsome device, all metal case, built like a tank. The only extras you need are a couple of spare speaker cords. I velcroe the tube to my microphone. In the 12 years that I have had this product it has never let me down. If it ever does, I will have to go out and get another one. It has never gone out of style and is like no other pedal ever invented. This I think is the closest you can get to becoming part of your guitar, playing the guitar into your mouth and lip syncing the sound back into the microphone. It is the most expressive guitar device that I have ever found. A must have.

.Great effect - but limited pre-sale info on all the requirements to make it work. Would suggest finding a picture of exact setups prior to purchase so you know what you need then buy everything at once if you don't already have it. Additionally, there is no "little red light" in the pictures of this product. It's located below the on/off button on the face plate. There is no information that comes with the pedal that I found explaining what the light is for. It is apparantly an overdrive indicator, i.e. it's not a good light to have on. I originally thought it was an on/off indicator. "Oh won't you, show me the way..."

.Do not buy this talk box. The setup is really complicated. You need an amp head, speaker cables, all of which I do not have. The Rocktron Banshee has a simple setup. Plug in guitar to one end, then to amp on the other. This is totally not worth the money and is just aggrevating.

.This has to be the best effect ever. Once you get past the ridiculous setup (effects > A/B switch > amp input(s) > speaker out > talk box) and try not to choke on the tube, you're all set. The only hard sounds to make are "ch" "k" and "f"; pretty much anything where you might need to close your mouth completely to create the harsh sounds. Best effect ever.

.I've had this for over 6 months now and it's great! All I recommend is make sure you are using a good PA with it and don't turn your amp up too loud or it could mess it up a little bit, the little light on it goes on when too much is going through it, when it stays on continually...you got a problem other than that, BUY IT!!! best talk box you'll find!!!!!/:}|

.After reading the reviews (particulary those that think this box is difficult to use) I have to put my 2 cents in. I've been playing with this talkbox since the 1970s. It has a great sound. Just because you have to have cables and such doesn't make it difficult, it makes you lazy. Yes the Rocktron is "easier" to setup but it doesn't sound near as good and I've blown two of their cheap drivers that feed the tube. I personally run a cable from a 22 watt amp head that solely runs the talkbox and use an AB box to direct where the signal is going. In any case, the sound alone is worth any effort to get the quality sound this box provides.

.Although this has no other controls on it except the on/off switch, it sounds the best. I've played the rest (Rocktron, Danelectro) and they're nothing compared to this in quality. Simply plug between the amp and speaker and you're set to go. Rock on.

.The real talkning guitar sound... its highly recommended for professional musicians. For amateurs and hobbist, I think it wouldnt be excelente, becuase you would have to buy a pre amp and an amp to power it, and that will be too expensive. But, for professionals, thats what you need to make your guitar talk! Set it with a pre amp and an amp ( without SPEAKER! or with an speaker output ). I dont recomend any amp, because its very particular, dependes only of what kind of distortion, FX you like. Its fun to practice with it, because youll say all the things you know just to hear your guitar talking!
