The PRO-1 is a dreadnought-style acoustic guitar, probably the most recognized acoustic guitar profile in the world and a model that EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e has been perfecting since 1932. Dreadnought-style guitars are known for their incredible volume and tonal range. They are a both a songwriter's and rocker's best friend. There's hardly a recording made that doesn't feature a dreadnought acoustic guitar. But traditional dreadnoughts are also "big" guitars and difficult for new players to learn on as their first guitar. Now the PRO-1 changes all that for the better.
The PRO-1 features the classic dreadnought profile and tonewoods such as select spruce and mahogany but with a reduced body depth, which makes it easier and more comfortable to hold and play. The select spruce top-the source of the PRO-1's tone - has "sealed" Custom PRO-Prietary Bracing that allows the full range of the guitar to ring out with clear highs and solid lows while also keeping the guitar stable in any environment. If the heart of a great guitar is its top and bracing, its soul is found in the neck - how it feels in your hands and how easy it is to go from one chord to another.
The PRO-1 uses classic tonewoods like mahogany for the neck and rosewood for the fingerboard, but with innovative features that reduce hand fatigue and finger fatigue. Whereas vintage models typically have big chunky necks, the PRO-1's EZ-PRO "C" Shape is easy on your hands. The shorter scale makes learning chords and licks faster. PRO-Ease Lubricant makes the neck feel smooth and "worn in" on your fingers, and JumboPRO frets make it easy to hold down light gauge strings.
EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e's Deluxe tuners have 18:1 tuning gears that make finding the correct pitch quick and intuitive. The GraphTech NuBone and bridge saddle are made from hard and resonant tusq material, increasing the guitar's volume and harmonic "voice." The PRO-1 also features another innovation that even pros have been asking for: the EZ-String Bridge doesn't require string pins. No more getting your string caught on a string pin (or losing a pin in the dark while you're on stage). The PRO-1 makes the world's most famous style of guitar easy.
Less fatigue
Wrap your hand around the PRO-1 neck and you'll immediately feel how comfortable it is. The new EZ-Profile neck is designed so your hand can easily form chords without feeling fatigued.
Effortless Fretting
EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e JumboPRO frets make fretting notes and chords seem effortless. JumboPRO frets are taller and wider than smaller frets. So, when you push down a string, it's easier to make string contact with the fret with less hand fatigue and finger friction.
Shorter is Easier
Scale length is the distance from the saddle to the nut. The shorter the scale length, the "looser" the strings feel. Because the PRO-1's scale length is almost 1" shorter than most acoustic guitars, the strings are under less tension so you don't have to press hard to get good tone. And - since the frets are closer together - making chords is easier.
Make friction fiction
String and fingerboard friction not only slows your playing but also can hurt. The PRO-Ease string and fingerboard coating provides sleek, smooth action with reduced string noise.
No pain, no gain?
Nonsense-EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e believes in "no pain." Lighter gauge strings are easier to play so every PRO-1 is set-up and equipped with EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Ultra-Light strings.
Easy action
With EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e's Dual-Action truss rod, you can adjust the neck in both directions, which not only stabilizes the neck but also makes set-up easier and more precise.

The problem with this guitar is that EE-Epiphone-e didn't glue
down the bridge properly. And it's a very common problem
to this model. Look at how many are being sold on other
"bidding" sites that have broken bridges.
The reason that many of the bridges break is because of
two problems. One is that EE-Epiphone-e made a bad design
and if you look at a picture of the bridge in the stock photo
it's not what you will get. The real bridge has a channel cut
in it to facilitate pulling the strings through. Combine that
with EE-Epiphone-e's lack of quality control in making sure that
the bridges are glued on properly. You have a recipe for
failure.
For those still daring enough to buy one of these guitars,
here's some out of the box measurements.
Action at 12th fret bass side. - 7/64th".
Action at 12th fret treble side - 5/64th".
Nut action bass side .030 " at 1st fret.
Nut action treble side .025" at 1st fret.
Relief at 7th fret .015" with capo at 1st and
string depressed at 15th.
The frets were smooth but very unlevel.
Epiphone PRO-1 Acoustic Guitar Transparent Blue
.I received the EE-Epiphone-e Pro 1 in the beginning of May. Played it around 40 times over the 3 months that it lasted. I started playing electric guitar around two years ago, this was my first acoustic. I purchased a lower end acoustic because I wanted to give it a try before spending a few hundred. I instantly found that it easily went out of tune but didn't pay it much mind as it was so inexpensive.
This morning I picked it up to play and noticed that the strings were all limp. figured my five year old was playing with the tuners. Looked down at the bridge and my jaw dropped!!!!! These are the original strings, I did NOT step up to a higher gauge. This is obviously extremely poor construction with cheap materials.

This guitar is for the beginner .If you know more than 4 cords you will not be happy". IT needs to be tuned a lot! and a lot of fret buzz even after adjustment? I am thinking of making the one I bought into a coffee table? Save YOUR MONEY " AND buy a "MARTIN" .

.I bought this for my daughter and before buying I done quite a bit of research. I have to say it is a nice guitar the color is amazing. It needs a total setup from truss rods and intonation. That being said after it is set it is very nice. My daughter loves it

.I actually sent this guitar back and opted for the the EE-Epiphone-e Dr 100 which is much nicer to play and looks good too

.I bought this guitar because of it's style. It's almost like the Fender Mustang of acoustics and I'm into that kinda thing. When I had first gotten it, it needed to be intonated BAD, but since that's been done, it plays AWESOME. It needs retuning at times, but then again, they're new strings. It's a neat little guitar and is very comfortable and it has a oool vintage look to it.

.I bought this guitar and had it shipped to my vacation home to use for jams with neighbors. I had heard the EE-Epiphone-e hype that this guitar was easy to play and a quality instrument. I had played other EE-Epiphone-e acoustics and was reasonably impressed. This guitar did not impress. It was hard to play and the action needed considerable adjustment. Strings were difficult to bend. I changed the strings to a set of .010" and saw some improvement. This would have been a difficult process for a beginner. The guitar was low priced and not worth a penny more. Bottom line. You can do much better.

.Man I have had many guitars but this is by far the best acoustic for the money I've ever had. I may have gotten lucky or something but I have had 0 problems with this guitar staying in tune and the harmonics blow my mind. What a sound! Plays easy too. I sanded the bottom nut down just past the numbers there-on and it plays great, may do a little more later but I doubt I will. I haven't yet but I may take a little off the top nut later. I did no truss rod adj. and again....what harmonics! I love it I may buy another for a spare. It brings back memories of the FT-145 (I think was the model number I played in the 1970's). EE-Epiphone-e, don't discontinue this model!!!! Super deal for the money! No I don't work for MF or Ep. I am just finally happy with an acoustic.
