The Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion with Remote features twin Turbo modes! Mode One produces warm and mellow distortion with flat frequency response. Mode Two provides a biting distortion with a midrange boost that's great for leads. The built-in remote jack on the Boss DS-2 Turbo pedal allows you to connect to an external footswitch such as the FS-5L for instant, handsfree mode switches.

First off, I've played guitar for 18 years, and my tone is VERY important to me. I've heard this pedal bashed by a lot of people, but I can't help but think that they were looking for the wrong pedal. The tone this thing kicks out is amazing. A great example of this pedals ability is the chorus and solo in the song Dani California by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Listen to the solo in that, and if you like it: buy this pedal, if you dont: go buy something else. This isnt a metal distortion, and its really kind of more of a crunch or fuzz. Another thing you should know, this pedal in the 1 setting is NOT the same as a Ds-1. I own both, love both, and would never have just one of them. This pedal is a great purchase, and I would gladly buy it again should mine stop working, which will probably never happen since its built like a rock. The only downside I can think of is that it makes a lot of noise when I plug it in to the ac adapter I own, so you'll probably have to buy either a Boss adapter or just use batteries like I do (replace them before shows, you'll be fine.) Dont hesitate to buy this pedal.
Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion Pedal with Remote Jack
.i got the boss ds 2 a few months ago and i really found that it is an extremely cool pedal. This pedal takes a lot of playing with to get a good sound, and it really helps if you know what you are going for instead of just playing with knobs. the I mode is really great for heavy power-chord work and such, but when you kick it into II mode you can throw down one nasty solo. i got this pedal for a really good deal, but i would have easily paid full price for this awesome pedal.

.Great distortion, from creamy overdrive to boosted mids for leads. Great for Nirvana sounding guitar and Chili Peppers. I like the Turbo II setting for getting that guitar solo distortion sound at the end of "Scar Tissue." Sounds just like it. This is easily in the top ten of Boss pedals. Frusciante uses this pedal from the pictures I've seen on his pedal board. If you like Yuck, Sonic Youth, Chili Peppers, Nirvana, etc, you will love this pedal.
Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion Pedal with Remote Jack
.I love this pedal, I play all kinds of stuff, like Red Hot Chili Peppers, and nirvana. stuff like that, and this pedal fit's it perfectly, nothing bad to say about it, i love it. I mostly use the Turbo mode, But when im doing some led zeppelin stuff I use the other mode and roll back the distortion, im using a amp that is built for "blues" but i can get real cool foo fighter tones out of this thing! I use a American standard strat, and i love it! check it out!
Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion Pedal with Remote Jack
.I got this pedal a month ago and i am very pleased with it..You can get a nice distorted sound, good overdrive(not the best) and with the turbo mode set to II you can get more dirty and raw tone(Yeah!)You cant play metal with the turbo mode set to II but if you mix it with a metal muff or an MT-2 you may get a descent tone....It's like you have 2 pedals in one..It's great, i recomend it for anyone!(The roland battery must be replaced as it's not that good)
Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion Pedal with Remote Jack
.The Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion pedal is a super versatile piece of equipment. From classic rock tones, through modern rock, the Boss DS-2 has great distortion tones. The "Remote" feature is probably the most important benefit to the pedal. You can go from nicely crunchy rhythm tones to spiky lead sounds with the push of a pedal (the Boss FS-5 remote pedal, not included with the DS-2). Basically, this "Turbo" remote feature gives you a much neaded boost for lead tones, helping you stand out from the mix. Better yet, the DS-2 does this without coloring your basic guitar tone too much...so the nuances of your playing come through. All this for less than a C-note. Great bang for your buck!!!
Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion Pedal with Remote Jack
.first thing first. the ds-2 is an aquired taste so try this pedal out before you buy it. with that being said i like the features this gives you two differnt distortion types mode 1 has more of a typical distortion sound mode 2 is a bit fuzzier with a mid boost. this pedal is good for anything from pop music to hard rock. not very good for metal music
Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion Pedal with Remote Jack
.this pedal is by far better than the DS-1 distortion. this pedal has two modes: turbo 1 and turbo 2. turbo 1 is identical to the japanese DS-1, so it sounds alot smoother and better than the stock DS-1. turbo 2 is what makes this pedal great. With a boost in the mids, and more sustain and voice, turbo 2 offers great lead tone and saturation. Perfect for soloing and taking center stage. This pedal gives good volume boost as well. This pedal can be tailored from a nice easy overdrive to raunchy distortion. Its in between the OD-3 Overdrive and the MT-2 Metal Zone. When i have enough money, i am surely getting this pedal. I wish i knew about this before buying the rather dull and plain DS-1
Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion Pedal with Remote Jack
.I'm a really picky guy when it comes to finding the right sound, especially since i'm into the heaviest of metal bands. To me, it's really hard to find a pedal that matches or surpasses the natural overdrive of an amp, there's really only 3 that i can think of, this is one of them, it was the very 1st effect i had, it's been years and years, the sound has not failed me with any band yet, no matter if u want crunchy rythm chords, or something to give u a high power face melting solo. You can't go wrong with the DS-2, no matter what anyone says!!!!!
Boss DS-2 Turbo Distortion Pedal with Remote Jack
.The title of this review pretty much sums up the pedal, it's just a great pedal to own. I can see this suiting more of a 'mature' band than say Slayer although turned up full this pedal get's very heavy! Now I'm not being that fair really because I only have a Fender Frontman it's not quite a Mesa Boogie but a couple of weeks ago I tried it on a 30 watt amp and it sounded great. The amp wasn't even a good amp but without the pedal it sounded poor! In a few months time I'll be getting a Marshall Mg50dfx so hopefully it will sound even better then but overall it sounds great now. The only thing you have to remember is : As long as your amp is Ok (30 watt+) it'll sound great. The only over pedal I'd look at is the Digitech Metal Master.
