I love the MT-2, though it is a complicated pedal. I usually like very simple effects pedals but the metal zone is my exception. After you spend the time to dial it in where you want it, it sounds amazing for playing metal and soloing. Also, if you crank down the treble, it makes a very good bass distortion, especially when combined with a wah pedal. It's a good pedal all around, but probably not best suited for a beginner because it requires a decent understanding of equalization.
Boss MT-2 Metal Zone Effects Pedal
.this pedal has all you need to play soft rock to heavy metal. great sound, and almost endless possibilities for tone. the equalizer is AMAZING, and that is how you get the array of tones. this thing is built solid as a rock and the only thing it might do is scratch up after a while of use. the only problem is that, it has a pretty good bit of feedback, but overall, this pedal is well worth the money and has great sound. i would HIGHLY recommend his pedal to anyone.

.If you're looking for a great distortion pedal that does more than just distortion-get something else that has two stomps in one. 1.More versitallity. 2.It will sound a lot better than this. 3. The eq's will probably be less touchy too.
Boss MT-2 Metal Zone Effects Pedal
.Honestly, this was my very first pedal i ever bought. This was 11 years ago and it's still pumping. I always resort back to the METAL ZONE. I have tried many pedals at music stores and some are good and some are just a waste. In my opinion this is my favorite out of any other I have tried. In the beginning the feedback was annoying but hell, you get that with anything BUY A NOISE GATE!! I strongly stand by this pedal to this day, like I said 11 years and still going strong... BUY IT!!!

.I have heard so many negative reviews about this product. Knowing myself over the years, I tend not to pay attention to people and try things for myself. Glad I listened to myself once more on this decision. The Boss-MT-2 is a great pedal. I have a Power Stack that I was using but thanks to this Ill be trading it in on something else. I could see why some people have negative reviews of this product. Probably because they have no ear and are playing through a low quality amp. If you have quality gear and a good ear you have nothing to worry about. If all the settings are at 12 noon, then yes the treble is a bit much but through adjusting the eq the pedal sounds fantastic. Ive been playing for 16 years and would buy this pedal again if I needed to. Dont pay attention to the negative reviews on here. I will say that O can see how this product may be used improperly. Then again, if you dont know how to use a wrench, how can you expect to fix your car?

.Everyone loves to hate on the Metal Zone. But honestly, its not bad at all IF you have a good amp. A lot of noobs run this thing into little practice amps that have no tone to begin with. If you have a good amp and cab and play around with the EQ you can get some incredibly heavy tones out of it. Lowering the treble and boosting the mids a little will thicken this pedal up a bit. Using a noise supressor will cut down on the feedback and hiss. A lot of bands from the 90s like Cannibal Corpse, Crowbar, and At the Gates used the 'Zone so that should give you an idea of some of the sounds to be had. I love the tone I get out of this pedal.

. Very Happy. Useful for headphone practicing also. The tone contours are perfect, and the unit reacts fantastically with an old CryBaby Wah in front of it. Really gets that Zakk Wylde sound.
Straight up the "Metal Zone MT-2" is a great had-rock heavy-metal tool. A useful way to add a heavy homogenous wall of stunn to any amp. I wouldn't say it's the total switch-blade though, even with much fiddling it really isn't a blues machine like some folks say. It does have plenty of gain to push the front-end of an amp with the addition of it's own grind. The tone controlls are fantastic, and can drive you down any road you would want to travel. Even fully gained in my 100watt Marshall, the noise isn't that bad. I have certainly heard a lot worse.
Built like a tank.....!!!!!! And the >15 hours battery life is great.
A little pricey, but a quality tool to have in the arsenal.
Boss MT-2 Metal Zone Effects Pedal
.The Boss MT-2 Metal Zone features a dual-gain distortion circuit, producing some of the most versatile distortion sounds I have ever heard and is one of the best-selling compact effects pedals of all-time. The range of distortion covers everything from low gain breakup to totally over-the-top insane. With huge mids and lows it can make small and mid-sized combo amplifiers sound like a high gain head plugged into a closed back speaker cabinet. It especially excels at Thrash Metal sounds in the style of Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth. Separate controls are included for level, distortion and three bands of EQ. The EQ section offers 15 db of cut or boost at each frequency center and includes both High and Low shelving EQ, plus a mid-band Parametric EQ with a 200hz-5Khz sweep. Boss compact, durable housing with easy access battery compartment is truly one of the best pedal designs of all time! The wide range of distortion and flexible EQ make for an extremely versatile unit. The manual lists several reference settings that sound great on their own, but also can be used as a starting point for creating your own sounds. These settings cover basic overdrive, 80s Metal, Modern Metal, 70s Classic Rock, Progressive Rock, early British rock, 50s style Rock n' Roll, and 60s fuzz among others.
Boss MT-2 Metal Zone Effects Pedal
.Overall, I would say that this is a great buy for anybody wanting to produce fantastic metal sounds.I've produced sounds from Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Pantera, Metallica and many other great bands using this pedal. I would certainly recommend it.
I LOVE this pedal. It has an amazing range of tones on it and always sounds beautiful. I do, however, recommend buying a noise gate with this pedal, as it does produce a LOT of feedback.
The pedal is quite durable as well. I've dropped it a few times onto my hardwood floors and whatnot. After a couple years of use, it only has one or two scratches on it. I haven't even had to change the battery in it.
I got my pedal at a local guitar shop around two years ago and I've got to say... you really can't get a pedal to pump out more distortion. Especially not for the money.
Boss MT-2 Metal Zone Effects Pedal
.The Boss MT-2 is amazing I've been non stop iffy on what distortion pedal to get and this one held a lot of promise so I went for it. It was so worth it the pure aggresion great sustain and extreme versatality of this peadal can't be beet. I have been playing guitar for 4 years and I'm with a band and all though metal is my thing I play plenty of blues and classic rock so I needed the right pedal for the job and I have tryed many but this one did it. It has great distortion awesome Eq. and and sustain and very noise free all in one wack. If you play metal rock fuzz or love versatality like me then quit looking cause you have found the right pedal!
