Eko guitars gained high popularity during the rock'n'roll craze of 1960s, becoming the largest guitar exporter in Europe. Their acoustic models were popular in country and folk rock bands of the late '60s.
Now EKO is back in the US with a great line of guitars that follows the same high quality manufacturing methods used in Italy in the 1960's.
The Ranger Vintage 6 is the best selling European guitar of all time, with around 200,000 instruments (including 6 and 12-string models) sold to date since 1964. The reissue version has the screwed bolt-on neck assembly. The Ranger is renowned for its hardy reliability. The action is easily regulated, due to the screwed-on neck and by the adjustable aluminium saddle at the bridge. The slender neck is easy to play. The resonance is more subtle compared to today's guitars with glue-fixed necks and spruce tops, but the quality of the sound is truly remarkable. The Ranger has inspired some of today's top luthiers and still remains a reference guitar for its construction, style and acoustic characteristics.
