Schecter's Omen Extreme-7 boasts a mahogany body with a quilted maple top, supercharged with a pair of Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers that deliver the hard rock crunch needed to cut through today's modern metal and rock mixes.
Maple neck
Maple has a uniform grain, it's strong and stable, and it has less reaction from environmental changes than other hardwoods. Its tone is highly reflective, and focuses more energy onto the body wood. Maple transfers a bright tone to the body which complements the warm tones of a mahogany body.
Rosewood fretboard
The most common fretboard, rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is fundamentally richer than maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.
Schecter Diamond Plus humbuckers
Over-wound coils with a ceramic magnet give these aggressive high output pickups the push that will send your amp over the edge. Made for crunchy rhythms and blistering leads, and perfect for drop tunings, this pickup will cut through the mix with ease. Sparkling single-coil tone when push-pull knob is activated.
Schecter tuning machines
These high quality tuners feature a classic design in a lubricated and sealed housing to protect gears for a lifetime of maintenance free playability. Details include a 15:1 gear ratio for smooth and precise tuning, removable knobs, threaded hex peghead bushing and a 10mm diameter peg hole.
TOM w/thru body bridge
Classic design Tune-O-Matic bridge with a Schecter 'String Thru' body tail, for added string tension, sustain and clarity.

This guitar is very easy to play. The neck feels like the neck on my Jim Root Strat. The Schecter pickups are very hot passive pickups. They aren't EMGs but sound great This guitar should cost more than it does. I play through an Orange OR15 halfstack and it is a tone monster! Single coil option is great if you like that kind of thing. I've read a lot of negative reviews of Schecter guitars with diamond plus pickups. These pickups are very musical and do metal very easily. They aren't EMGs...... but no pickup does that thing that EMGs do. Don't let the bad pickup comments discourage you. Those people are probably playing thru solid state amps wich is where an EMG 81 really improves the sound. If you want a 7 string get this one!

.Impulse bought this one because I found myself using my eight string more as a seven string. I use it to play Korn, Whitechapel, Emmure, and much of what I've come up with myself.
The guitar is beautiful, it's my most favorite look on any of my guitars.
The pickups are great for being factory installed! incredible sustain whenever you want a note to never end.
The neck is smooth and doesn't hold you back from moving up and down.
The only thing I noticed is that there is not much of a difference when the tone knob is changed in any way, could also be the rest of the gear it runs through though.
9/10 guitar, Schecter does well.
Schecter Guitar Research Omen Extreme-7 Electric Guitar See-Thru Black
.This guitar is a blast to use, and the tone of the instrument itself is quite solid. However, the stock pickups are sort of dead, but that's to be expected at this price point. Expect to have to replace the pickups eventually if you wanna do live gigs or record with it.
