I gave it both "Excellent Sound Quality" an "Poor Sound Quality" because it does seem to be pretty sensitive to what guitar I am using and where in the f/x chain I put it. I guess it is just a bit touchy like a "vintage" unit' :)
I haven't exhaustively tested all the Univibe clone uints out there but from the online demos there certainly were some that I lied better than others. In this price range none of the other units really got me excited so I decided to give one a try. I am glad I did.
It has a fantastic throbby Univibe tone that one would expect. Seems to play better with my Strat than with my humbucker equipped LP. The chorus setting with intensity below noon is to die for. The vibrato setting does seem a bit weak but I think that is not an uncommon feature of these clones.
This got the Vibe bug out of my system and was a couple hundred cheaper than the other units I was considering.
Electro-Harmonix Good Vibes Chorus/Vibrato Guitar Effects Pedal
.This pedal showed me that I really like chorus, but I needed a deeper sound. I did not even find any Vibrato effect in the sound.
