Building on EHX's looper legacy, the 45000 combines the familiar controls of a multi-track digital recorder with state-of-the-art features making it possible to create complex multi-track loops quickly and easily. Each loop has four mono tracks and one stereo mixdown track. The 45000 records non-compressed, 44.1kHz/16-bit CD quality audio direct to a removable SDHC card (4 to 32GB). Each card holds up to 100 individual loops accessed with the optional 45000 Foot Controller (sold separately). Loop speed is adjustable over a two octave range, and reverse recording and playback are also possible. For extra convenience, a built-in metronome to a separate Monitor Out and a Headphone Out are also included.

The idea of having a four track looping recorder is great. The problem is, the 45000 simply does not work well. I am on my second unit after having had to return the first. My first unit had build quality issues. The second seems to have operating system issues. The unit freezes often. When it is not frozen it won't change loops. When it will change loops it won't stop at the loop you want, it just keeps zipping on by.

It's a very pricey unit to be having these issues. Until EHX gets their quality control issues taken care of, I will not be purchasing another pedal from them.

.For the last 15 years I have moved from rock to experimental music making and the 45000 is a great piece of sampling gear for voice, instruments or other found sounds. You can store them on a disk and drop them to your computer. It also has enough features to manipulate the sounds you put into it. It responds well to touch and tap (I bought the foot controller to, which is a must) and moves through tracks quickly.

Still figuring out how to record onto the SD card, but looking at the manual will surely help.

So far this thing is extremely addictive! The possibilities are endless.
