EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e presents the Ltd. Ed. Les Paul Custom PRO KOA featuring a KOA top, and critically acclaimed ProBucker humbucker pickups with coil-splitting along with Les Paul Custom style gold hardware, fully bound body, neck and headstock, Graphtech nut, and pearloid inlays.
“The World’s Most Beautiful Electric Guitar”
The Les Paul Custom made its debut in 1954 after the initial success of the Les Paul Goldtop. Mr. Les Paul himself wanted to convey to audiences that the electric guitar was not a fad but a superb and challenging instrument—the king of all electric solid body guitars. So, Les requested a Les Paul with a custom finish and gold hardware that would look sophisticated on any size stage. The Les Paul Custom quickly became one of the most recognized guitars in the world and Les himself used his Les Paul Custom in concerts, on his weekly television show with wife Mary Ford, and on his album covers, including his famous duet with pal Chet Atkins, Chester and Lester. Now with a stunning figured KOA top with a Natural finish and EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e’s superior ProBucker humbucker pickups with coil-splitting, you’ll agree that the EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Les Paul Custom PRO KOA is indeed one of the world’s most beautiful guitars.
Les Paul Power With a KOA Top
The Ltd. Ed. Les Paul Custom PRO KOA features a warm, tone rich figured KOA top along with the Custom’s traditional solid mahogany body in a rare Natural finish and 5-ply white and black binding on the KOA top and Mahogany back as well as the “Custom” classic headstock. Just like Les’ personal Custom, the Les Paul Custom PRO KOA has a solid Mahogany 24.75 in. scale neck with white binding that’s hand-fitted and glued-in for optimum neck-to-body contact so the Les Paul Custom PRO KOA resonates as single piece of wood. The Rosewood fingerboard has pearloid block inlays, a 12 in. radius, a 1.68 in. Graphtech nut, and 22 medium-jumbo frets.
ProBucker Power With Coil-Splitting
The Les Paul Custom PRO KOA is powered by EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e’s critically acclaimed ProBucker pickups, a 4-wire design with coil-splitting inspired by Gibson’s legendary BurstBuckers. ProBucker pickups recreate the sound of the original hand-wound “PAF” humbuckers made by Seth Lover at the Kalamazoo factory in the late ’50s. EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e ProBuckers feature all the same ingredients as original PAF and BurstBucker pickups, including Alnico II magnets, Elektrisola magnet wire, 18% nickel silver unit bases and covers, and pole screws, slugs and bobbins manufactured to Gibson’s original specifications. The result is a phenomenal pickup that, over time, will develop the subtle, one-of-a-kind characteristics that you can only get from vintage humbuckers. And best of all, those unique pickup characteristics will give your guitar a unique “voice.” No two vintage Les Pauls sound alike and ProBuckers give your EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Les Paul Custom PRO KOA a one-of-a-kind sound that will get better the more you play.
The Les Paul Custom PRO KOA includes a ProBucker-2 humbucker in the neck position that is slightly overwound for greater definition at higher volumes. The bridge pickup is a ProBucker-3 humbucker, which is also slightly overwound to give your solos a wide tonal range. Each pickup features coil-splitting via a push/pull control at each pickup’s volume knob, which really gives the Les Paul Custom PRO KOA the ability to be any guitar you can imagine. All volume and tone controls feature full-size 500K Ω potentiometers matched with EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e’s rugged, all-metal, 3-way toggle pickup selector switch for long-lasting performance.
All-Metal EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Hardware
EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e’s reputation for great guitars extends to its unbeatable hardware and the EE-EE-Epiphone-e-e Les Paul Custom PRO KOA delivers with a standard-setting gold LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge and a gold Stopbar tailpiece for superb tuning stability. Plus gold Grover machine heads with an 18:1 ratio for fast and reliable tuning. A hard case is optional.

I have owned many Gibson brand guitars over the years, including Les Paul and Firebird. This is my first EE-Epiphone-e. This guitar is simply beautiful, especially on stage with par cans reflecting off it. The images here do not do it justice.
As with all my guitars, the first thing I did was get a professional setup and a lighter gauge string. It comes with .10 - .46 I believe, but I prefer .09 - .42 as I have arthritis and play with a lighter touch. The intonation is perfect and string height is about 4/64 on the top end and 5/64 on the low. It is a dream to play.
The tone is amazing with the default settings already, but with the added pull-pots, your sound range is greatly expanded. The pickups are full of harmonics and warmth. I simply love them.
The only downside is that it does not come with a case. I purchased the matching EE-Epiphone-e case however, so you should check that out as well.
I am not a heavy metal player, siding with the more melodic things, but this guitar can do it all.
I plan to get more EE-Epiphone-e Les Pauls from here on out.
Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Custom Pro Koa Electric Guitar Natural
.I waited for this to come in stock for over a month, well worth the wait!
I heard it was better than seen in pictures and those reviews are correct! Mine came with a beautiful book matched grain top, that someone at the shop had taken care to select. There are dark bands running right off the tail piece in perfect symmetry. The koa wood is just amazing. The neck was also premium select tiger banded flame (on mahogany ?) The workmanship overall is perfect!
I was not sure based public comments elsewhere that the koa top was "figured shaped" or a laminate (like all other Epi LP) Well I called Gibson directly and spoke with technicians. The top is in FACT carved solid wood! And you can see a sliver of its thickness at the cutaway.
OK enough about looks! You get the idea.
Sound is impressive! Pickups are great (and I have owned classic 70's Gibson LP before)
These things crank! I used a Fender tube amp, sported up with Canabis Rex speaker and JJ tubes.
Perfect warm match for a LP!
MF was super easy to work with allowing a return/ exchange of another guitar, and honored sales price for the replacement Epi LP.
