The SE Standard 22 is a workhorse guitar that is ideal for the studio and the stage. With an all-mahogany body and 22-fret set mahogany neck, this guitar has a warm, woody tone and focused midrange, allowing the SE Standard 22 to easily fit in a mix. This guitar is complete with classic PRS appointment, including an all-mahogany body (reminiscent of Paul's pre-factory guitars), a set mahogany Wide Fat neck, rosewood fretboard and bird inlays, and humbucking pickups with a PRS-Designed stoptail.
Since 2001, the SE Series has been offering incredible quality and great tone at affordable prices. The introduction of the SE Standard models represents a significant extension of the SE Series into the <$500 price point. The goal of the SE Series has always been to provide a quality instrument to players of all levels one that would not fight the player, but encourage him or her to start and to keep playing. PRS is proud to extend this promise to an even more attainable price point with the SE Standard lineup.

Love love love this guitar!! I'm not overly concerned about where a product is made. Heck, if it feels good, solid and plays right I don't care if its made on Mars. This particular PRS is one of the least expensive models available today but plays and feels like a higher end axe. It's very light and fits my body and hands just right. Love the wide fat neck profile as it works well for me. Hangs like a short scale guitar but it is 25". Comes with D'Adario 9's on it and they sound just perfect. Have alway been a 10 gauge guy but love the feel and the sound of this guitar with 9's. Electronics are full bodied, clean AND nicely linear. When I received this, I needed to do some very minor set up and it was ready to rock. I would say my only complaint might be the bridge has no intonation adjustments but it seems that PRS has got that figured out too. Very pleased..

.I really love this guitar! I got it as a level 1 open box as a good deal. It plays smooth and since I like thicker necks; the Wide Fat is perfect. The quality is excellent. It had a very small chip on it (because it was an open box), but you have to look close to see it. Other than that, flawless. Comparing it to one of my other guitars (Epiphone G400 Pro), the finish looks very similar. I do like the PRS sound much better and it is easier to play. The downside is It does not have a coil tap and is more expensive, but at least you get the gig bag. If I had to choose one of the two, I would pick the PRS.
I would give it 5 stars, but the although the gig bag is thick and looks nice, it was ripped on the inside from the strings ends. I would not expect this to happen and was not mentioned on the level 1 description. I have to give Custom Guitars Friend credit for offering to send me a gig bag for free, but it was the cheap one which has no padding, and is virtually useless. Since I do not gig, it's not a big deal, but I would not carry the guitar around in this gig bag. It should at least keep the dust off.

.I've been playing guitar for about 14 years, on and off. This is not the greatest guitar I've ever played. Recently, I've played an Ibanez prestige, which was quite a good guitar, the PRS se-7 string, which was also very good. I can say confidently that the quality control on my PRS SE standard was the best I have seen, which really means something for the price. The frets are level, the tuners smooth, the nut is cut well, the pickups are the proper height and sound awesome, and the trem is very smooth. I actually bought this guitar after seeing the Anderton's/Chappers review on youtube and I have to say, I've been playing this guitar pretty much every day for two months and I'm very, very happy with it. The neck is an agreeable shape, not wide; fast, but not shreddy. The rosewood on the fretboard is incredibly smooth and there aren't any paint splotches - just a slightly loose tone pot that hasn't had any effect on the tone or playability.
The thing I'm most surprised by is the quality of the pickups. They sound GREAT. Apparently they are "SE" versions of the PRS HFS and Bass pickups...they probably aren't as "vibrant" but to many ears the difference is negligible. They are dynamic, powerful and versatile. I play mostly metal but I've also toyed with some classic rock (a little too hot for that but if you roll the volume down a little it sounds great) and some fantastic clean tones.
For the money I'm extremely happy with this guitar. I'd put it up against many, many guitars that cost much more. Buy it as a backup or as your main guitar. I'd gig with it in a second.

.I have owned many guitars and for the money and even forgetting about the money, this is a sweet axe. The other guitar player I play with was really taken back when he played it as well, strong sound.

.I am really pleased with this guitar. It is a great value for the money. It was listed as scratch and dent, but I cannot find a scratch or dent in this instrument. It is in great shape and plays far better than other guitars I have owned in the past.
