These mics go ok at first. Then they begin to fall apart. The quality lessens and is not worth spending 300 on. Go with Shure or sennheiser if you're going professional, but these would work maybe for a beginner with a low budget.
Peavey PVM DMS-5 Drum Mic System
.very poor quality. will distort easily. i doubt the claim of handling high spl levels. kick drum mic is atrocious. snare mic is decent. toms are unimpressive.

.I use these mics to record drums in my home studio. These mics are pretty good quality; very good for the price. The mics are VERY durable. Mine have been hit repeatedly by drummers, and they're holding up just fine. I've heard several complaints about the bass drum mic, but mine sounds quite nice. If you EQ it right on your mixer, and get the levels set up right it sounds fine. The tom mics aren't the best quality, but with a little tweaking they sound quite nice.

.I have played many concerts at many different venues. These mics were used at one particular venue and that was the best my drums had ever sounded and have ever sounded since. I plan on buying this system very soon.

.I bought these mics about 5 years ago and they are still running strong. If you use some good preamps and eq them they make some ok recording mics and do a great job live. The only downfall to this set is the mic cables, they are cheap and last about one gig before they fall apart. But the mics cable are kinda a freebee so that shouldn't hinder your choice.

.I have used these through various speaker configurations and I am very pleased with there sound and presence.
Peavey PVM DMS-5 Drum Mic System
.Been using these mics for over 3 years running sound for various bands. Sound quality is very good on all mics. Mounts are secure, and work well. Mics are durable (been hit around a lot) but the top screens have popped off and been reglued various times (my only real gripe). Overall, a very solid microphone at a good price.

.Nice mics here from a peavey fan. Only thing Im not to crazy about is the mounts. They hold the mic just fine, but there is limited adjustment and some might find the mic gets in the way. But you can always use regular stands too. I might try that too if my space is not limited. Overall these are great, has a nice case for the road, and mic cords work great with the 90 on one end. Another good peavey product in my book!

.I've owned a set of these for over 3 1/2 years and found them to do what they are supposed to do. Great sound for live applications (recording) and for rehearsal you can't beat 'em. Speaking as a Gospel music artist we don't require too much drum miking but whenever I need my sound to fill the room I grab my mic set and get to hooking. My drummer loves them and since I am the sound engineer I know if the drummer ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.
