The Electro-Harmonix Bass Metaphors Compressor Pedal has a distortion design that melds carefully selected compression with bass-specific EQ. You get tonality structure for your bass with a rock solid foundation. The Bass Metaphors pedal's channel strip design makes for easy setup and deadly tone. 1/4" and XLR inputs and outputs let you go to your amp and directly to the board for recording. The dry knob lets you control how much dry signal is present at output. The compressor adds sustain and smoothes out the signal from your bass.

So far i have used it after my boss tuner, and before my bass big muff. i have also used it alone. When in bypass, there is clear distortion to the signal. Turning the Bass all the way down on my amp, i can hear the bypass distortion more clearly. Also, after about 4-5 oclock on the bass knob in the pedal, the bass drops out completely.Distortion build in is useless and sounds like trash. i would not recommend this pedal at all unless you wanna take some chances that it might work for you.
Electro-Harmonix Bass Metaphors Compressor Effects Pedal
.I love this pedal! I was actively searching for a new all-in-one pedal for recording. I tried many other brands and they were all pretty good, nothing to complain about. I bought this one because I thought it might be interesting. I was not disappointed. It has a great "punch" and "personality" to it. The compression is worth the price alone. Very warm and gooey. The distortion is sort of plain, I don't really use that much, just a little touch. The E.Q. is very colorful and dynamic. The price is also very attractive.

.I bought this to use as a di and see what it could do. Sadly it hissed like crazy, (something none of my other pedals do). The compression was ok, but it was very limited and the eq was ok for what was there but then again very limited. The distortion sounds like garbage, even just a little bit on sounded awful. I returned it and got a different distortion, way better. Sadly, don't buy it. I "LOVE" EHX pedals, I own three now, all unreal, but this is a big miss.

.This is a great di. It takes some tweaking to realize it potential. You can use it as a sansamp with compression and just a little overdrive. Or you can use it like an MXR DI+ with the switchable Fuzz channel. The distortion seems to be mostly midrange that is added on, similar to the Blowtorch but warm and fuzzy, it leaves the bottom more natural. When you you use the EQ with the Compression it reminds me of how the Aphex bass exciter works with dual compression. It's a very versatile box. I have owned the the Sansamp, MXR DI+, and BassExciter, this is my favorite.

.It seems like Electro-Harmonix is raining bass effects right now. I could not be more pleased!I sold my GT-6b for this thing, and i honestly have to say I am glad that i did it. I use it as my DI when i play out, and the only other equipment i carry is my 31band EQ, my line6 wireless system, and my basses. I love it.Cheers!!!
Electro-Harmonix Bass Metaphors Compressor Effects Pedal
.Just got this pedal and was pleased with what it has to offer the person who may have an older model gig rig. I have a gk rb1001 II w/ rbh410 as my main rig. I really don't need the metaphorse to boost anything at all with this rig. However i do have another older 400rb head and a 210 carvin cab... major rivitalization! so, to make this a short story... great rig + metaphorse= another pedal just for looks (distortion workable, nothing special)... Older rig + metaphorse= worth every penny, no need to spend $$ on new rig yet.

.Is Duficult to use. Have versatile, you study it. Combine the distortion with treble full, bass in the seven point, EQ setin between seven point to eiht, distortion full, volume betwen six & seven. This it the formula. Check the amplifier Graphic EQ band in distortion mode. After, out the distortion, re check EQ amplifier.use the compresor to sustain. Recorder not adjust is required. Study it and combine whit your amplifier. Is one mix! The sound have bass naturaly and distortion mix.
