It starts with neck-thru construction that combines maple and mahogany for endless sustain and continues with playability that's maxed out with a thin U neck contour, rosewood fingerboard and 24 extra-jumbo frets. 2 active EMG pickups with brushed steel covers are powerful and versatile enough to require just a single Master Volume and 3-way Toggle to get the right sound. LTD locking tuners and a tune-o-matic bridge keep intonation tight.

I absolutely love this guitar. I also own a fender strat and another esp ltd (the 1000ec), but this one is my favorite guitar. It comes with EMG 57/66, which I had never heard of before, so I was a bit hesitant to buy it. Now that I've had a chance to play it, I can say with certainty that I prefer the EMG 57/66 pickups over the 81/60. The 57/66's are incredibly clear and clean and warm sounding, while still giving you the punch you expect from active pickups. It gives you more versatility, so you can play metal, rock, clean guitar, etc. and it all sounds great. It's the best of both worlds - all the benefits of EMG's without any of the drawbacks.

In terms of playability, this guitar plays like a dream. Because there's no stop-bar, the guitar has amazing sustain. The drawback to that was that the strings were a bit tighter than I'm used to, and were hard to bend and get good vibrato out of, so I simply switched the strings from 10s to 9s and it immediately solved that issue. It is very easy to bend and get amazing vibrato out of the strings now.

Bottom line - it feels amazing to play, it sounds amazing, and it looks amazing in my opinion. You can't go wrong

.While I'm not usually a fan of "signature" guitars, I gotta say, I REALLY like this guitar! It has a great feel, 24-frets, and the design/engineering are kept simple,... which I like. I would totally recommend this guitar,... just not to anyone standing next to me on stage :)
