Special note to ukulele players! You need to watch humidity levels as they can greatly affect your uke whether it's all wood or laminate. A friend pointed out to me that along my frets, the wood was shrinking due to lack of moisture in the wood. I bought this hygrometer to measure the level of humidity in my house. The hygrometer is the size of a small matchbox and can easily fit into your instrument case of gig bag. It also has a tab so that it will sit up on a table top. It doesn't have any way to hang it on the wall near your ukes if you have them displayed. You would need a shelf for the hygrometer to sit upon.

.Great to get an actual humidity reading in my Guitars room at all times. My humidity stays above 40% so not necessary to put a humidifier in the room. I still like to keep tabs on it to protect my Martins and Chaylor.

OK So I got this because I felt that I needed a monitor in the case that was better than a piece of litmus paper. I guess I didn't think through the logistics about how exactly the gadget was supposed to monitor the guitar. The display is easy to read but I can't speak to the accuracy. What I DO know is this: I can't really keep it near the guitar body in the case unless it's stuck inside the accessory cover. You can't just have it loosely banging around inside the headstock end of the case with $3500 guitar for it to scratch up. so..... it registers the temp/humidity inside the covered accessory pocket, sealed off from the guitar. I can, therefor, see that it is 62 degrees and 54% humidity inside the accessory pocket. Is that really what I wanted to see?

.Nice compact unit. Easy to use. Easy to read. Accurate to within 1% & 1 degree of my larger in home unit. A great investment for protecting your instrument, especially high end guitars, etc. I use mine in connection with a D'Addario Acoustic Guitar Humidifier inside the case & a whole house humidifier for the Midwest winters in my home.

.When you pay for a really nice guitar, it would be a shame to not take care of it and protect your investment. Never owned a guitar (Chaylor 816) this expensive and want to have it in good working order for a long time. This is a necessary item.
